The global crisis of trust has led to a shift in the paradigms of shaping competitiveness. The states as entities of global competition, in times of growing demand for trust, conduct activities in various areas in order to build their position in the world. One of these tools is international public relations and its specialisation, which is the country’s social responsibility. One of the most important tools of social responsibility of the country is the official development assistance (ODA). The aim of this article is to verify the role of the social responsibility of the state in shaping the reputation of the largest donors of official development assistance.

This study is aimed at determining how the financial data of public benefit organizations (PBOs) affects donations received by them and if the donors use financial and non-financial information in order to donate. In order to achieve our aim we used different methods of research: quantitative research (econometric model and survey) and qualitative research (laboratory test). The research allowed us to draw the conclusion that Polish donors make very limited use of PBOs’ financial statements in the donation process and that non-financial information plays greater role for donors in making decisions to give charitable donations. The most important information is the organization's goals and descriptions of its projects. At the same time, many donors stated that they donated under the influence of people they knew. This article fits into the scope of world research on PBOs and uses the concept of civil society.

Breeding cells and embrios donors’ data disclosure becomes more important subject in legal practice and it is being updated with court decisions adjudicating in this matter, e.g. German court confirming the right of a person born after an in vitro fertilization procedure to learn personal data of his/hers biological father. The study aims to identify legal problems arising mainly from the regulations contained in the Act on the treatment of infertility and to provide an answer to the question of guarantee of the donors’ anonymity.

This paper is short summary of British official development assistance in 2000-2015. The author starts with theoretician issues, definition of ODA and classification and then showing the world biggest donors. Two-stages analysis indicates that the United Kingdom is one of the biggest donor. Under this proposal, a narrative is built around its position and priorities of UK development policy. Analysis of sectors and geographical directions of flows shows that in 2000-2015 British are strongly involved in implementation of Millennium Goals and supported own politician and economics interests due to choosing specific recipients of ODA in three main regions.

The subject of the article is the analysis of the rights of donors donating their biological samples to biobanks in the 21st century. Issues regarding donor rights have been analyzed since the 1980s, however, changing times, creating Big Data databases as well as evolving legal awareness of donors meant that today the role of donors in the biobanking process should be perceived differently. Donors become active subjects of scientific research which is connected with the need to answer questions about the obligations to inform them about the results of scientific research conducted on their samples or incidental findings. Likewise, the combination of data registers and the creation of Big Data basis require the re-thinking of terms such as the protection of personal data of donors or the anonymisation of their data. These issues are imposed by negligence or complete lack of legal regulation of the biobanking, which makes the legal protection of the rights of donors dependent on the will of a particular biobank. All these phenomena result in the necessity of new approaches to the rights of donors and their inclusion in the future legal regulation.
