The article discusses the issue of e-book in the Polish school. It attempts to define the main features of an e-book as well as its rank in the Polish educational system. Additionally, the aspects of implementing 'The e-book Project' have been presented. The aim of the project is to develop e-books and educational resources and make them available on the educational platform free of charge.

Nowe technologie zmieniły sposób pozyskiwania informacji, a co za tym idzie – zdobywania wiedzy. Efektywne wykorzystanie e-zasobów wymaga odpowiedniej wiedzy i umiejętności. W artykule omówiono wyniki badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego na grupie studentów – użytkowników Biblioteki Głównej Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie. Badanie miało na celu ustalenie m. in. znajomości zasobów elektronicznych, czynników, które decydują o wyborze danego źródła, problemów, które użytkownicy napotykają przy korzystaniu z e-zasobów. Wypowiedzi i sugestie respondentów dostarczyły wielu informacji, które będą pomocne na przykład przy planowaniu kolejnych szkoleń oraz szerszej promocji źródeł elektronicznych wśród studentów.

New technologies have changed the way of retrieving information, and in the result, of gaining knowledge. The effective use of e-resources requires sufficient knowledge and skills. The article analyses the results of a questionnaire survey conducted in a group of students, the users of the AGH University Main Library. The aim of this research was, among others, to establish the level of knowledge of electronic sources, the factors considered by users when selecting a source, and problems encountered by students using e-resources. The respondents’ comments and suggestions have brought a lot of information, which will be helpful for example when planning subsequent training sessions, and in wider promotion of electronic resources among students.

Potencjał wykorzystania informacji dotyczących elektronicznej oferty bibliotek naukowych w statystyce bibliotecznej

W artykule poruszono problematykę raportowania o wykorzystaniu e-zasobów i e-usług, stanowiących część kompleksowej działalności bibliotecznej - nie zawsze właściwie eksponowanej w sprawozdaniach oraz w zaleceniach projektów i norm statystyki bibliotecznej. Porównano odwiedziny użytkowników i wielkość udostępnionego księgozbioru w czytelniach bibliotek naukowych oraz wypożyczalniach, z danymi o wykorzystaniu e-zasobów dostępnych w subskrybowanych bazach danych i bazach własnych. Z przedstawionej analizy wynika, że użytkownicy nie opuścili biblioteki, a jedynie zmienili formę korzystania z jej oferty, która wiele lat temu zaczęła przenosić się do wirtualnej rzeczywistości. Zaproponowano także dyskusję nt. stworzenia ujednoliconego wzoru sprawozdania bibliotecznego, zawierającego wszystkie przejawy działalności bibliotek w świecie cyfrowym na rzecz ich użytkowników, poczynając od e-zasobów, poprzez opracowanie zbiorów, a kończąc na zadaniach związanych z prowadzeniem strony internetowej i promocją biblioteki. Czytelny raport działalności biblioteki w świecie cyfrowym pozwoli lepiej zrozumieć prace wykonywane przez jej pracowników.

The article discusses the issue of reporting the usage of e-resources and e-services, which are part of a comprehensive library activity - not always properly exposed in reports and in the recommendations of projects and standards of library statistics. The visits of the users and the size of the shared library in the reading rooms of the scientific libraries and the rental office were compared with the usage of e-resources available in the subscribed databases and own databases. The presented analysis shows that users did not leave libraries, but only changed the form of using their offer, which many years ago began to move to virtual reality. A discussion is also proposed on the creation of a unified template for a library report, containing all library activities in the digital world addressed at its users, starting from e-resources, to the development of collections, to tasks related to running a website and library promotion. A clear library activity report in the digital world will enable abetter understanding of the work performed by its employees.
