The contexts are kindergarten teacher student education, early childhood education and the author's long term research process of constructing a new pedagogical systems theory. The two systems models, which the author created earlier, function now in a theoretical background. The models are different but both of them reflect on early childhood education and care (ECEC). The exact focused question is, what the interconnections of the two different models of ECEC are. Solutions will be shown by making a cross tabulation between these two qualitative models. The results will construct forward the new pedagogical systems theory of ECEC. This theory and a corresponding model can help teachers to become responsible mentors for sustainable development, especially for children's education for sustainable human development and well-being.

The article presents results of research into low income parents as well as professionals involved in the education, care and upbringing sectors. It concerns access to toddler care and preschool, the costs of sending children to such institutions, support for parents on low incomes, as well as the demands parents have of these institutions. The authors carried out two group interviews with parents, as well as three individual interviews with workers from the institutions. In the final part of the article, the results of the research are presented along with recommendations for politics concerning the sectors of education, upbringing and care of children from the ages of 0 to 6.

Co-production is a new term in Poland; however it has received significant recognition throughout the Western European countries of Europe. Co-production has been used to describe the participation of citizens, also gathered in third sector organisations, in the formulation (setting the directions and tools) and implementation (the provision and management of public services) of various public policies. These types of arrangements can also be found in early childhood education and care in Poland, as is presented in this study. This paper thereby attempts to investigate the state of the art of co-production, including its threelevels – co-production at the service of delivery, co-management and co-governance – in education, paying special attention to the early stage of childcare and education devoted to children at the ages of 3–5. In addition to this, the study endeavours to define the most important obstacles which hinder co-production in early childhood education and care in Poland, with reference to the structural, social and economic factors.
