Deze studie gaat in op Nederlandse idiomen met diernamen in vergelijking met hun Engelse, Franse en Poolse equivalenten. Het artikel bevat ook informatie over de fraseologie (soorten frasemen, indeling, eigenschappen). Het bevat de belangrijkste resultaten van het onderzoek (voor een masterscriptie gedaan) om aan te tonen dat de twee Germaanse talen Nederlands en Engels veel overeenkomsten hebben op het gebied van fraseologie. Wij veronderstellen dat de Franse taal ook invloed heeft gehad op het Nederlands. Daarnaast zijn er veel idiomen met dierennamen, en het blijkt dat in de fraseologie een dier vaak een reflectie/metafoor is van een mens, iets wat we vaak in sprookjes tegenkomen.

Artykuł opiera się na badaniu niderlandzkich frazeologizmów z elementem zwierzęcym, które zostały porównane z ich polskimi, francuskimi i angielskimi odpowiednikami. Tekst zawiera informacje z zakresu frazeologii: rodzaje frazeologizmów, podział, charakterystyka etc. Artykuł, oparty m.in. na głównych wnioskach z pracy magisterskiej, zmierza do udowodnienia faktu, iż obydwa języki germańskie tj. niderlandzki i angielski, wykazują wiele podobieństw w dziedzinie frazeologii. Zakładamy również, że język francuski wywiera pewien wpływ na język niderlandzki. W każdym z wymienionych języków występują liczne frazeologizmy, które zawierają nazwę zwierzęcia. Zarówno we frazeologii, jak i w bajkach możemy zaobserwować, że dane zwierzę jest uosobieniem pewnych cech człowieka.

This study involves discovering the Dutch idioms with animal names compared with their English, French and Polish equivalents. The article contains also the information about phraseology (types of phrasems, division, characteristics). It presents the main results of the research (which were made for a master thesis) just to show that these two Germanic languages, such as Dutch and English, have many similarities in the field of phraseology. We assume that the French language has also an impact on the Dutch. Besides there are many idioms with animal names, and it turns out that in the phraseology an animal is often a reflection/metaphor of a man, what we often see in the fairy tales.
