The article defines the term ecological energy. It reviews the current situation in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and attempts to estimate the potential of obtaining ecological energy in the future. The prepared forecasts relate to the five and ten-year perspective. The article attempts to determine whether, and if so, to what extent these investment plans fit into the idea of sustainable development. The research results for individual types of ecological energy sources were compared tothe energy demand in the selected territorial area and the obtained results wereassessed. For this purpose, a hypothetical- deductive research method was used. The formulated hypotheses were verified correctly. They show that the Pomeranian Voivodeship in the coming years, it may change its character and become an importer of electricity on a national scale, and it will become an exporter, all thanks to ecological energy sources, the role of which will become more and more important.

Artykuł definiuje określenie energii ekologicznej. Dokonano w nim przeglądu obecnej sytuacji w województwie pomorskim i podjęto próbę oszacowania potencjału pozyskiwania energii ekologicznej w przyszłości. W artykule podjęto starania określenia czy, a jeśli tak, to na ile, plany te wpisują się w ideę zrównoważonego rozwoju. W pracy postawiono hipotezę, iż plany inwestycyjne wpisują się w zrównoważony rozwój w województwie pomorskim. Wyniki badań dla poszczególnych rodzajów źródeł energii ekologicznej odniesiono do zapotrzebowania na energię na wybranym obszarze terytorialnym i dokonano oceny uzyskanych wyników. W tym celu skorzystano z hipotetyczno-dedukcyjnej metody badawczej. Wynika z niej, że województwo pomorskie w perspektywie najbliższych lat może zmienić swój charakter i z importera energii elektrycznej w skali kraju, stanie się jej eksporterem, a wszystko to za sprawą ekologicznych źródeł energii, których rola będzie przybierać na znaczeniu.
