This article is devoted to the issue of care services for the elderly, implemented in the form of a community carer. The article presents problems related to the implementation of these services that the babysitter encounters during their provision. The essence and significance of care services are indicated, and more precisely, what these services are, what their purpose is and to whom and how they are granted. The responsibilities of a visitor was also introduced and her role explained.

Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniu usług opiekuńczych dla osób starszych realizowanych w formie opiekunki środowiskowej. W artykule przedstawiono związane z realizacją tych usług problemy, na jakie podczas ich świadczenia napotyka opiekunka. Wskazano istotę i znaczenie usług opiekuńczych, doprecyzowano, czym te usługi są, jaki jest ich cel oraz komu i w jaki sposób są przyznawane. Przybliżono również zakres obowiązków opiekunki środowiskowej i wyjaśniono jej rolę.
