Literary Heredity and Variation in Selected Facebook Poems of Veralyn Chinenye And Her Collaborative Authors

Facebook has become one of the mediums of creativity and criticism of works of art as a result of the nature of its blended writing. At the “completion” of a composition, Facebook poems maintain a certain degree of the static form, which is a characteristic of print literature. Facebook poetry coalesces the oral and print into a “new” form of poetry and extends the boundaries of oral and print literature. Using Bolter and Grusin concept of Remediation as a theoretical framework, this paper examines literary heredity and variation in selected Facebook poems of Veralyn Chinenye and her collaborative authors and participants. The paper further examines the characteristics and criticism of Facebook poetry and explicates the functionality of “Emoji”, “Comments”, “Share”, and intertextuality in the on-going creation and criticism of Facebook poetry that is different from the conventional perception and practice of literary creativity and criticism. Through the examples of poetry analysed in this paper, our findings show that digital literature is, to an extent, fluid and shares identical characteristics with oral literature in terms of artist and audience participation, occasion of performance

В статье анализируются трансформационные процессы в современной Украине в конкретных проявлениях их специфики, а именно – субъективации и массизации украинского общества. При анализе этой проблемы проводятся параллели с выводами уже разработанных концепций и идей зарубежных и украинских философов. В современном цивилизованном мире, по мнению всемирно известного ученого Ф. Фукуямы, происходят два взаимоисключающих процесса, от которых зависит будущее прежде всего западной цивилизации. Один из них – дефрагментация сообществ по групповым идентичностям: профессиональным, возрастным, религиозным, половым и т. д. Такая мозаика со обществ приводит к исчезновению единства в стране, росту взаимных претензий, непонимания и конфликтов, индивидуализации членов общества к существованию разрозненных индивидуумов, теряющих связь с социальной средой. С другой стороны, идет процесс отождествления массы людей как социальных существ с более могущественными группами, в первую очередь нациями, что приводит к взаимным претензиям на международном уровне и угрозам авторитаризма и разрушения демократий в отдельных странах, особенно тех, которые вступили в процесс модернизации. И все же Ф. Фукуяма считает, что понимание возможно. Стоит искать и находить разумный компромисс, ведущий к консенсусу. По мнению автора этой статьи, такой процесс условно можно охарактеризовать как формирование «либерального национализма». В статье делается вывод о том, что усиление субъектности современной Украины является необходимым условием ее самоутверждения как независимого государства – самодостаточного актора на исторической арене. Одним из основных направлений развития процесса субъективации является демассизация и демассификация постсоветского общества, преодоление всех признаков его постколониализма.

The article analyses the transformation in modern Ukraine in specific manifestations of their specificity, namely – the subjectivation and massization of Ukrainian society. In analysing this problem, parallels are drawn with the conclusions of already developed concepts and ideas of foreign and Ukrainian philosophers. In the modern civilized world, according to the worldfamous scientist F. Fukuyama, there are two mutually exclusive processes dependent primarily on Western civilization. One of them is the defragmentation of communities by group identities: professional, age, religious, sexual, etc. Such a mosaic of community leads to the disappearance of unity in the country, the growth of mutual claims, misunderstandings and conflicts, the individuation of members of society to the existence of atomised individuals who lose touch with their social environment. On the other hand, there is a process of identifying the mass of people as social beings with more powerful groups, primarily nations, which leads to mutual claims at the international level and threats of authoritarianism and destruction of democracies in certain countries, especially those that have entered the modernisation process. And yet F. Fukuyama believes that understanding is possible. It is worth looking for and finding a reasonable compromise that leads to consensus. According to the author of this intelligence, such a process can be tentatively described as the formation of “liberal nationalism”. The article concludes that strengthening the subjectivity of modern Ukraine is a necessary condition for its self-affirmation as an independent state – a self-sufficient actor in the historical arena. One of the main directions in the development of subjectivation is the demassization and demassification of post-Soviet society, overcoming all signs of its postcolonialism.

Po przemianach ustrojowych w Polsce w zmianach poradnictwa dają się wyodrębnić trzy tendencje: (1) „radosnej twórczości”, (2) selekcjonującej stabilizacji i (3) „usiecionego” przepływu. Jak widać, dotyczą one znaczenia jego społecznej roli w określonej rzeczywistości oraz jego struktury. W rezultacie, na etapie rozwoju, w którym się znajdujemy, ma miejsce nie tylko poradnictwo dla młodzieży, ale przede wszystkim poradnictwo całożyciowe, biograficzne, dla ludzi w różnym wieku. Jest ono uprawiane w zorganizowanych systemach, w płynnych sieciowych strukturach oraz w sytuacjach nieformalnych, lokujących się w życiu codziennym. Jest działaniem profesjonalnych doradców i osób kompetentnych lub życzliwych, sprowokowanych do niesienia pomocy przez porady. Polskie poradnictwo zdaje się nie odbiegać od realizowanego w Unii oraz w krajach pozaeuropejskich i zgodnie z polityką państw ma sprzyjać realizacji idei przedsiębiorczości, idei wzrostu społecznego poczucia bezpieczeństwa i przeciwdziałaniu bezrobociu. Wiedza na temat realizacji tych celów, jak i kształcenia oraz doskonalenia profesjonalnych doradców jest wprawdzie niepełna, jednakże wskazuje na potrzebę organizowania różnych form poradnictwa, jak i ciągłej edukacji „specjalistów od pomagania”, w czasach, w których ludzie potrzebują wsparcia, gdyż doświadczają niepewności, stresów i bezradności w niestabilnej, płynnej i zmiennej rzeczywistości

After the changes in the form of government in Poland, modifications in terms of counselling can be divided into three tendencies: (1) „merry creativity”, (2) selective stabilisation and (3) „networked” flow. As can be seen, they affect the meaning of counselling in society within a certain reality and within its structure. As a result, at the development stage at which we are now, counselling is not restricted to young people, it is concentrated on lifelong, biographical counselling for people of all ages. It occurs within organized systems, liquid network structures and in informal situations in everyday life. Counselling is conducted by professional counsellors and competent or simply well-wishing people compelled to helping through advice. Counselling in Poland does not seem to differ from that in the European Union and other countries outside Europe and in accordance with the policies of countries, its aim is to realise the goals of entrepreneurship, raising public perception of safety and fighting unemployment. Although the knowledge concerning fulfilling those goals, as well as education and training from professional counsellors is not complete, it does point to a need for the organisation of different forms of counselling, as well as a constant education of „specialised helpers” when people need support due to unsure times, stress and helplessness in an unstable, fluid and changing reality.

Alexandrian Seashells is a poetic collection of Mona Latif-Ghattas, where we try to study the dream image of the sea; poet recounts her memories of youth, stranded as seashells on the beach. Hypotyposis is the best figure of speech that reflects poetic hallucinated impulses, symbolic elusive relationships or inexpressible feelings. Essentially descriptive, this figure is based on the observation of feelings, sensations or elusive impressions. It transmits the fleeting thoughts by its dynamic appearance. The multiple facets of hypotyposis, spread through the space-time items, include figures attached either to land, desert, beaches or fluid figures that derive their value from the sea. The hypotyposis is able to connect the lived memories with the emotional effect produced by the moment.

Écailles Alexandrines, recueil poétique de Mona Latif-Ghattas, où l’on tente d’étudier l’image onirique de la mer; la poétesse y retrace ses souvenirs de jeunesse, ramassés comme des coquillages échoués sur les plages. L’hypotypose est la meilleure figure qui reflète les élans poétiques hallucinés, les rapports symboliques qui soulignent l’inexprimable. Essentiellement descriptive, elle se fonde sur l’observation des sentiments, des sensations ou des impressions mobiles et changeants. Les multiples facettes de l’hypotypose se répandent à travers les éléments spatiaux, regroupant les figures attachées soit à la terre, au désert, aux plages ou les figures fluides. L’hypotypose tresse les souvenirs vécus avec les états d’âme produits par l’effet du moment.
