W pracy przedstawiono charakterystykę generacji iGEN w oparciu o badania studentów I roku. Są to najstarsi przedstawiciele pokolenia użytkującego od najmłodszych lat smartfony i funkcjonującego w sieci globalnej. W badaniach tych chodziło nie tylko o diagnozę ich posługiwania się urządzeniami IT, ale również o ich jakość życia, stan psychiczny i samoocenę.

The paper presents the ethnography of virtual phenomena and processes, conducted in the social, educational and cultural spheres of the Internet. It describes the most important features of the global network and shows all its aspects which are the subject of ethnographic studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice, i.e. the communication process and its semiotic character, the process of creating social networks, education supported by social media, virtual self-help groups for stigmatised people, and cyberbullying.

Celem artykułu jest dokonanie rozpoznania uwarunkowań transferu wiedzy i innowacji w warunkach usieciowionej globalnej gospodarki na podstawie nowych ustaleń badawczych z tego zakresu. Omówiono m.in. determinanty lateralnego, wewnątrz korporacyjnego transferu wiedzy, jak również zależności zachodzące pomiędzy korporacją i pozostałymi uczestnikami systemu biznesu. Wyłanianie się rozwiązań innowacyjnych w sieciach znajduje się pod wpływem wielu czynników, wśród których należy wymienić mechanizmy organizacyjne, czynniki strukturalne, uwarunkowania geograficzne, jak również mobilność pracowników oraz, co oczywiste, ochronę własności intelektualnej. Zrozumienie ich oddziaływania wydaje się być kluczowe dla skutecznego szukania źródeł przewagi konkurencyjnej we współczesnej gospodarce.

The aim of this paper is to identify conditions of knowledge and innovation transfer in the global network economy. Results of recently conducted researches in the related fields are taken into account. Determinants of intra-corporate lateral knowledge transfer and ties between corporations and other actors involved in worldwide business system are discussed. Emerging of innovations seems to be influenced in many ways, i. e. organizational mechanisms, structural and geographical factors can matter as well as mobility of workers and intellectual property rights. Understanding how they work is essential for effective searching for sources of competitive advantage in modern economy.
