Nazwy metod, narzędzi i urządzeń do połowu ryb w gwarach kujawskich

The research revolves around the names of methods, tools and devices recorded in Kuyavia dialects along with their components used for catching fish. The research material comes from the Dictionary of the dialect and culture of Kuyavia [Słownika gwary i kultury Kujaw], Witold Pracki’s glossary of the Ślesin dialect and ethnographic studies. The aim of the analysis is semantic and genetic characterization of the mentioned names. Their review shows that native terms dominate, characterized by the presence of many ancient forms. Some of them have a dialect provenance. Among the names, the words of fishing scoops and drifting netsprevail.

Przedmiotem badań są notowane w gwarach kujawskich nazwy metod, narzędzi i urządzeń wraz z ich częściami składowymi służącymi do połowu ryb. Materiał badawczy pochodzi ze Słownika gwary i kultury Kujaw, słowniczka gwary ślesińskiej Witolda Prackiego oraz opracowań etnograficznych. Celem analizy jest opis znaczeń i motywacji słowotwórczych wspomnianych nazw. Ich przegląd pokazuje, że dominują określenia rodzime, charakteryzujące się obecnością wielu form dawnych. Niektóre z nich mają proweniencję gwarową. Wśród nazw dominują nazwy narzędzi czerpakowatych i sieci skrzelowych.

The aim of the article is semantic and genetic characterization of Kuyavia names of potato dishes. It allows not only to explain the motivation and origin of the analyzed units but to recreate the image of a former village, its culture, traditions, beliefs, knowledge and culinary skills as well as the history of Kuyavia. The names of the dishes are undoubtedly a mine of information about the region because it is impossible to understand their cultural heritage without referring to the earlier generations’ experiences and knowledge of the world stored in the language, specifically in its lexical layer.

Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka semantyczna i genetyczna kujawskich nazw potraw ziemniaczanych. Pozwala ona nie tylko objaśnić motywację i pochodzenie analizowanych jednostek, ale także odtworzyć utrwalony w nich obraz dawnej wsi, jej kultury, tradycji, wierzeń, wiedzy i umiejętności kulinarnych oraz historii Kujaw. Nazwy potraw są niewątpliwie kopalnią wiedzy o regionie, nie możnabowiem zrozumieć jego dziedzictwa kulturowego bez odwoływania się do zmagazynowanych w języku, a zwłaszcza w warstwie leksykalnej, doświadczeń i wiedzy o świecie wcześniejszych pokoleń.
