The article presents the armed actions taken during the war of the French Empire with the fourth coalition seen through the eyes of Polish public opinion. The Gazeta Warszawska based largely on the French Monitor familiarized its readers with the events that took place in the Kingdom of Prussia. The battles fought in the Polish lands were of great importance to the editorial staff. A separate but also extremely important issue was the creation and operation of Polish troops. Examination of press reports in terms of content, accuracy and, above all, fidelity to the information provided, became the basic assumption put forward by the author.

Artykuł przestawia działania zbrojne toczone w czasie wojny Cesarstwa Francji z czwartą koalicją widziane oczami polskiej opinii publicznej. Gazeta Warszawska w oparciu w dużej mierze o francuski Monitor zapoznała swoich czytelników z wydarzeniami, jakie miały miejsce na terenie Królestwa Prus. Duże znaczenie dla redakcji miały walki toczone na ziemiach polskich. Osobnym, ale także niezmiernie ważnym zagadnieniem, było tworzenie i działanie polskich wojsk. Zbadanie doniesień prasowych pod kątem treści, dokładności i przede wszystkim wierności przekazywanych informacji , stały się podstawowym założeniem postawionym sobie przez autora.
