Migracje stanowią wielowymiarowy fenomen łączący w sobie aspekty ekonomiczne, demograficzne, socjologiczne, kulturowe, prawne i polityczne. W skali międzynarodowej są one zjawiskiem bardzo dynamicznym. W 2017r. na świecie znajdowało się 258 mln migrantów międzynarodowych, co stanowiło 3,4% populacji świata. Niniejsze opracowanie zostało poświęcone zmianom w obszarze migracji międzynarodowych w XXI wieku. Wśród poruszanych problemów autorzy zwracają uwagę m.in. na takie kwestie, jak nowe formy migracji międzynarodowych, czy też zmiany klimatyczne i klęski żywiołowe jako siły napędowe ruchów migracyjnych na świecie.

Migration is a multidimensional phenomenon combining economic, demographic, sociological, cultural, legal and political aspects. International migration is a very dynamic phenomenon. In 2017, there were 258 million international migrants in the world, representing 3.4% of the world's population. This study has been devoted to changes in the area of international migration in the 21st century. The authors draw attention to such issues as new forms of international migration, or climate change and natural disasters as driving forces of migratory movements around the world.
