Tematyka smart city to obecnie jedno z najczęściej poruszanych zagadnień podczas dyskusji dotyczącej zarządzania miastem. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie kluczowych założeń oraz możliwości wykorzystania koncepcji smart city w polskich realiach na przykładzie miasta Płocka. W artykule autorzy zaprezentowali ideę inteligentnego miasta oraz korzyści i zagrożenia, jakie płyną z jej wdrożenia. Ponadto, na podstawie krytycznej analizy dokumentów oraz obserwacji autorzy dokonali oceny działań podejmowanych w Płocku i wskazali na elementy, które świadczą o jego inteligentnym zarządzaniu.

The idea of a smart city is nowadays one of the most frequently raised issues during discussions concerning city management. The aim of this article is to present key assumptions and possibilities of using a smart city concept in Polish reality based on the example of the city of Płock. The authors of this article presented the idea of an intelligent city with the benefits and risks of its implementation. Moreover, based on the critical analysis of documents and observations the authors have evaluated the actions undertaken in Płock and pointed out elements that prove the intelligent management.
