O poprawności przewodników metodycznych do nauczania języka polskiego (normatywnie)

The article discusses some issues related to correctness (in the area of orthography, punctuation, inflections, vocabulary, phraseology, syntax and stylistics) of teaching guides including lesson plans for Polish. On the basis of a few randomly selected publications some most frequent mistakes in such type of guidance materials have been described, leading to the conclusion that mistakes in the publications meant to provide a helpful aid in teaching, especially their lack of clarity and ambiguities, do not only disrupt fluent reception and are evidence of the author’s lack of competence or the carelessness of the proofreader. They also cause the situation in which their recipient, the teacher of Polish, who encounters an inaccurately written text could have major difficulties in understanding the author’s intention. It may result in a need to plan the lesson independently, which makes the guide fail to fulfill its role.

Artykuł stanowi odpowied autora, będącego jednocześnie redaktorem naukowym Wielkiego słownika języka polskiego PAN, na uwagi, jakie w stosunku do tego słownika zgłosił Piotr Zbróg, dotyczące przedstawienia w nim wybranych aspektów problematyki poprawności językowej. Część uwag autor uznał za słuszne, część - za wynikające z błędnej interpretacji zasad opisu leksykograficznego w WSJP PAN. Przedstawił także kilka postulatów dotyczących zadań współczesnej normatywistyki językowej w Polsce.

The paper provides the authors response to Piotr Zbrogs comments on the interpretation of some language correctness problems in Wielki słownik języka polskiego PAN (The PAN Great Dictionary of Polish Language). The author, who is the editor-in-chief of this dictionary, admitted to some mistakes in the lexicographic descriptions there, but he claims that a great part of Zbrogs criticism is the result of misinterpretation of the rules of lexicographic description in the dictionary. The author also presents a few proposals concerning further development of normative linguistics in Poland.

The article presents the most important theoretical and practical achievements in the field of normative linguistics and language planning in Poland in the years 1989–2014: publications which concern the general and precise issues of normative linguistics and language planning, normative dictionaries and other publications which codify the norm, institutional and legal actions, language counseling and popularization of knowledge about language.
