Der martyrologische Charakter der priesterlichen Existenz

Niniejszy artykuł próbuje – w oparciu o przedstawioną teologię męczeństwa – pokazać, że życie i posługa kapłanów, nawet jeśli nie umierają jako męczennicy, mają charakter martyrologiczny. Punktem wyjścia jest analiza znaczenia słowa martyria i jego użycia w Nowym Testamencie oraz w literaturze wczesnochrześcijańskiej. Następnie zostały przedstawione wybrane ujęcia teologii męczeństwa w czasach patrystycznych i współcześnie. W ostatnim kroku omówione zostały te aspekty kapłańskiej egzystencji, w których ujawnia się jej martyrologicznycharakter: świadczenie swoim życiem o Jezusie Chrystusie, reprezentowanie Chrystusa, przepowiadanie, celibat, posłuszeństwo, ubóstwo i naśladowanie Jezusa w niesieniukrzyża.

The article tries – based on the presented theology of martyrdom – to show that the life and ministry of priests, even if they do not die as martyrs, have a martyrological character. The starting point is an analysis of the meaning of the word martyria and its use in the New Testament and in early Christian literature. Then, selected approaches to the theology of martyrdom in patristic times and today are presented. In the last step, the aspects of priestly existence which reveal its martyrological character are discussed: a testimony to the life of Jesus Christ, representing Christ, preaching, celibacy, obedience, poverty and following Jesus in carrying the cross.

Der vorliegende Beitrag versucht – aufbauend auf der Darstellung der Theologie des Martyriums – zu zeigen, dass das Leben und der Dienst der Priester, auch wenn sie nicht als Märtyrer sterben, einen martyrologischen Charakter hat. Den Ausgangspunkt bildet eine Analyse der Bedeutung des Wortes martyria und des Gebrauchs dieses Wortes im Neuen Testament und in der frühchristlichen Literatur. Weiter werden ausgewählte Ansätze der Theologie des Martyriums in der patristischen Zeit und in der Gegenwartdargelegt. Im letzten Schritt werden Aspekte der priesterlichen Existenz erörtert, in denen ihr martyrologischer Charakter zum Vorschein kommt: Lebenszeugnis für Jesus Christus, Stellvertretung, Verkündigung, Zölibat, Gehorsam, Armut und Kreuzesnachfolge.
