Artykuł odpowiada na pytanie o najbardziej istotne pojęcia dla fenomenologii Jean-Luc Mariona. Ten francuski filozof wskazuje na idola i ikonę jako właściwe odniesienia w mówieniu o Bogu. Przez analogię do sztuki wskazuje, że idol jest bałwochwalczym pojęciem «Boga», które skupia na sobie, zasłaniając Boga żywego – w tym umiejscawia swoiste spojrzenie na ateizm, który staje się „śmiercią «śmierci Boga». Odpowiedzią Mariona staję się ikona jako usytuowanie ludzkiego patrzenia w nieskończonym i odkrywania jego głębi.

This article answers the question about the most important concepts for the phenomenology of Jean-Luc Marion. The French philosopher, points to the idol and icon, as appropriate references in speaking about God.
