The subject of analysis in this article is language politeness and polite forms used in electronic correspondence by student. The aim of this article is to determine the extent to which the subject of the description of forms of politeness is applied to the collected material research. 250 emails were subjected to analysis. The senders were students of three Warsaw universities: Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, University of Warsaw and University of Finance and Management. The recipients were university lecturers. The material gathered was analysed with the help of the concept of language politeness elaborated upon by Małgorzata Marcjanik.
