The purpose of this paper is to show the principles of family upbringing presented in Postylle na Ewangelie (1655), a unique work of Jan Bythner, clergyman of the Unity of Brethren. The first part of the paper focuses on the author's profile. The next part aims to characterize the most important works of the leading Czech Brotherhood theologians dealing with the issues of family upbringing. In this context are discussed Jan Bythner's instructions related to upbringing issues. The recommendations for parents he formulated were included in the sermon for the First Sunday after the Epiphany.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie zasad wychowania rodzinnego zawartych w unikatowym dziele duchownego Jednoty braci czeskich Jana Bythnera Postylle na ewangelie z 1655 roku. W pierwszej części opracowania została przedstawiona sylwetka autora, następnie scharakteryzowano główne dzieła czołowych czeskich teologów braterskich poruszające zagadnienia wychowania rodzinnego. Na tym tle opisano pouczenia Jan Bythnera odnoszące się do kwestii wychowawczych. Sformułowane przez niego zalecenia dla rodziców znalazły się w kazaniu na Niedzielę Pierwszą po Trzech Królach.
