On May 12, 1935, marshal Piłsudski died in Warsaw. In view of his supreme state authorities ordered a funeral to be organized at the expense of the state and delegations of all types of the army were to participate in it. Funeral ceremonies took place in Warsaw and Krakow. General Gustaw Orlicz-Dreszer was appointed the commander of the procession. The cavalery participating in this ceremony displayed the banners of all regiments and squadrons of honor. The last parade in front the marshal’s coffin was commanded by general Bolesław Wieniawa-Długoszowski.

12 maja 1935 roku w Warszawie zmarł Marszałek Józef Piłsudski. Naczelne władze państwowe postanowiły zorganizować jego pogrzeb na koszt państwa, a uczestniczyć w nim miały delegacje wszystkich rodzajów wojska. Uroczystości pogrzebowe odbyły się w Warszawie i Krakowie. Na dowódcę konduktu wyznaczono gen. Gustawa Orlicz-Dreszera. Kawaleria wystawiła poczty sztandarowe wszystkich pułków i szwadrony honorowe. W ostatniej defiladzie przed trumną Marszałka kawalerią dowodził gen. Bolesław Wieniawa-Długoszowski.
