The basis of the draft is a compilation of archaeoichthyological, archaeological and historical sources concerning fishing in the Chełmno Land in the Middle Ages. It uses data from excavations, including artefacts directly related to fishing, such as net hooks, spinners, harpoons, but also fish bones and scales. In addition, historical references to the granting of fishing rights, and finally data on fish consumption in the area in question, were used.
