The considerations in the article concern the concept of patriotism – not only widely understood, but also not isolated from the range of contexts in which it may occur and which may condition its understanding (the contents that compose it). My reflections should lead to the verification of the thesis claiming that: the specificity of the history of the nation, its geographical and determined by the nature of culture place in the world condition the content contained in the concept of “love for the homeland”. These contents are therefore different in distinct nations, disparately felt, lived and expressed. The presentation of the broadly conditioned understanding of patriotism by Poles is connected with the manifestation of these facts in the practice of life and human biographies – here in the biographies of outstanding figures in the history of the Resurrectionist Congregation (CR): B. Janski, P. Semenenko, H. Kajsiewicz, W. Barzyński, and W. Zapała.

Servant of God Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski and Servant of God Bishop Zygmunt Łoziński are two men for whom the love of their homeland was not only something intimate but also exteriorised. In many moments of their lives they were displaying this patriotic by the example of their lives and teaching. They preached love of the homeland that was not nationalism. On the contrary, it is a multidimensional sentiment which stimulates our physical and spiritual existence. It is not a elfish love. The Christian patriotic affection is elevated to the dignity of the supernatural virtue which determines a series of tasks to be accomplished by men. It must be stressed that the study of the interaction between the magisterium of both hierarchs helps us to gain a better understanding of the topic of homeland and the history of the Polish and the Belarusian People.

To uczucie obejmujące długi szereg wielu rozmaitych przedmiotów, z którymi wiąże nas życie fizyczne i duchowe.

Karol Libelt (1807–1875), catholic scholar, philosopher, journalist, social activist, a great patriot, a participant of the November Uprising awarded the Cross “Military Virtue”, is the author of a unique work About the love to the homeland, considered the jewel of patriotic literature. In the article, author analyzes the concept of the homeland and love of it, where he infers conditions and rules of education for love of country. According to Libelt, homeland consists a number of important factors and with each of them the inhabitant of the country stays in close connectivity – with the land, the people, the laws prevailing in the country, with national characteristics and so on – such that we can find the ontological unity at the level of each of these factors between the man and the homeland. Thus the concept of education for love of the homeland developed by Karol Libelt may be called the principle of unity in patriotic education. Its result of it is not only emotional and exhibiting deficiencies, but also the rational and conscious, so also complete love of the homeland. Karol Libelt by his works and his life entered to the pantheon of Polish national creators, and his ideas stay faithful to the social teaching of the Church.

Some scholars have recently tried to show that the problems in the Christian community at Corinth were caused in a particular way by women wishing to have a more significant role within the community, and that the primary purpose of Saint Clement’s Letter to the Corinthians was to bring them to order and to show them their proper place in the community’s life and activity. The current study primarily tries to show that Prima Clementis was addressed to the entire Corinthian community. This is followed by an analysis of the passages in which Saint Clement presents the feminine figures of the Old Testament: Miriam (the sister of Moses and Aaron), Lot’s wife, Rahab, Judith, and Esther, and interprets them in the context of the Christian situation at Corinth. In this way, it is shown that Clement, by using the exempla method, creates the image of a perfect, ordered, and harmonious community in which women are outstanding for their strong faith, love, and hospitality.
