W artykule dokonano analizy jednego z możliwych typów przemieszczania się ludności wiejskiej, konkretnie mobilności handlowej ukraińskich chłopów w pierwszej połowie XIX w. Zagadnienie handlu było szeroko przedstawiane na lamach ówczesnych periodyków lwowskich. Z tej przyczyny stały się one podstawowym źródłem historycznym, na którym oparto niniejsze rozważania. Odnotowywały bowiem aktualny stan dyskursu publicznego. Korespondenci „Gazety Lwowskiej”, „Tygodnika Rolniczo-Przemysłowego”, „Rozmaitości” – W. Pol, J. Żywicki, M. Stöger, K. Turowski – poświęcili problematyce handlu stosunkowo dużo miejsca. Zwracano uwagę na takie zagadnienia, jak choćby udział ludności wiejskiej w handlu rogacizną, drzewem, płótnem, produkcją gospodarstwa wiejskiego.

The article analyses one of the possible types of villagers’ mobility, i.e. the commercial mobility of Ukrainian peasants in the first half of the 19th century. The issues of commerce were widely presented in the pages of the then periodicals in Lviv. For this reason, they became the main historical source on which the present study was based, since they reported the current state of the public discourse. The correspondents for “Gazet Lwowska”, “Tygodnik Rolniczo-Przemysłowy”, “Rozmaitości” – W. Pol, J. Żywicki, M. Stöger, K. Turowski – dedicated relatively a lot of attention to the issues of commerce. The press focused on such issues as villagers’’ trade in cattle, wood, cloth and farm produce.
