W artykule omówiono rozwój internetowych platform P2P (peer-to-peer, osoba-do-osoby) umoż- liwiających dzielenie się własnym mieszkaniem z turystami. Głównym celem artykułu była identyfikacja funkcji, jakie pełni jedna z najpopularniejszych platform tego rodzaju o nazwie Airbnb. Pokazano również rolę tej platformy na rynku turystycznym oraz dokonano charakterystyki jej modelu biznesowego. Platformy P2P w turystyce przyczyniają się do zwiększania podaży i popytu na rynku turystycznym oraz do większego wyboru produktów turystycznych po przystępnych cenach.

The article discusses the development of P2P (peer-to-peer) internet platforms enabling sharing an apartment with tourists. The main purpose of the article was to identify the functions performed by most popular platform of this type called Airbnb. The role of this platform on the tourism market was also shown, and its business model was characterized. P2P platforms in tourism contribute to increasing supply and demand in the tourism market as well as a larger selection of tourism products at affordable prices.
