The category of post-human sensitivity (taken from the work of Rosi Braidotti) seems to be a key concept for understanding the nature of modern posthumanist. It doesn’t mean to challenge the man himself, but leads us to the need to rethink its subjectivity in the context of relations with other beings and in the context of global economic processes (including the context of economic sensitivity and its discursive character). Sensitivity should combine empathy with the knowledge and ability to be in a relationship with other entities (people, animals, social groups). It is a radical gesture of courage in times of extreme individualism and intolerance.

The aim of the paper is the analysis of Martha Nussbaum’s views on the problem of love, namely, its proper recognition. Nussbaum describes love as a spe-cific type of knowledge, which involves undeniable impression of particular be-auty of another person, followed by its moral acceptance and devotion to it. At the same time, she argues that one of the most fundamental features of love is its vulnerability to suffering, denial and self-deception. Therefore, she seeks for a criterium that would allow to discern loving from not loving. In the paper, first, the problem of love as knowledge in Nussbaum’s philosophy is analysed. In the second part, Nussbaum’s view on the limits and boundaries of love is discussed. Finally, consideration of possible enhancements that could be introduced to Nuss-baum’s thought about love is made, with reference to views of another thinkers, such as Aquinas, I. Kant or E. Levinas.

Basing on the example of Paw królowej [The Queen’s Peacock], the article presents the manner in which Dorota Masłowska problematizes her own situation and position in the world of (pop) culture after the spectacular success of her debut novel White and Red. The paper defines the category of vulnerability and uses it to determine the subject position of the author. Female characters in the book are treated as metaphorical incarnations of Dorota Masłowska, reflecting her emotions related to her vulnerable position.
