Primitivism is a marginal current of political thought. It is based on the concept of the return to the era of primitive past. However, primitivists view this concept as an inspiration rather than a closed vision of the future. The founders and followers of primitivism address problems which are ignored by scholars and politicians, and show that there are other, alternative ways of thinking about the future. Primitivism is a utopian thought, but this does not mean that it cannot be an inspiring source of new ideas concerning the reform of modern civilization in the ecological and axiological aspect. The main creators of modern primitivism are John Zerzan from the United States and John Moore from the United Kingdom. Primitivism shows ideological similarities to other trends of political thought which are in the peripheries of the modern sets of political ideas. They include: anarchism, tribalism, Luddism and agrarianism.

In times of economic crisis Polish national thought was focussed on searching for solutions to economic problems. Its objective was to create a national economic system. In pursuit of a new “third path” for economic development, the young generation of the national camp was distinguished by the formulation of highly-original solutions. It opposed the development of industrialisation. It was thought to be essential to base the system on the model of the small farm and workshop as most appropriate and indicative of the highest financial profits in the development of the nation. The economic thought of ‘youth’ aimed at revising both the liberal and socialist order. It claimed that capitalism had had its day, whereas simple forms of management should be judged as promising. In drawing on Christian thought it was considered that that economic and social order could not be built on the pain of the people. Economic relations were supposed to be regulated in accordance with the principles of social justice. It was argued that economic life should be based on Christian ethics and culture. Economic issues presented by the ‘youth’ of the national camp were not based on material values, but spiritual, moral and ethical.

The article presents the concepts proposed in 2006 and in 2014 by the Polish political parties to enhance energy security in Europe (the idea of the European Energy Security Treaty and Energy Union) and determines the role of these proposals for the energy security of the member states of the European Union. Formulated by Polish political parties (Law and Justice, Civic Platform), the concepts for energy cooperation between the EU resulted from the comparable importance of energy in modern international relations. Politicians from both political parties were aware of the dependence of many countries of the European Union on energy supplies from the Russian Federation and the nature of the foreign policy pursued by Russia. Consequently, they indicated the need for close political cooperation, both with the importers and exporters of energy resources. In terms of political science analysis of this issue it is important from both the theoretical and practical point of view, as it relates to the determination of the essence of understanding by policy makers of changes taking place in Europe, as well as the distinction between the measures and actions taken to ensure energy security in the EU. The concepts proposed by the two political party’s resulted from the need to pursue an active foreign and energy policy. Nevertheless, clear assessment of the concept of Law and Justice and Civic Platform is difficult to determine.
