EN
Doping denotes artificial increasing of physical and psychical capacity of a sportsman, with the use of methods other than training, although the borderline between doping and training is often very difficult to set. Doping comprises medical methods which are harmful to one’s health and which are officially prohibited. Several contemporary doping methods, applied under strict control of a professional, can be very difficult to detect, and their appropriate application does not negatively affect the health, at least during the time of sports activity of the person. The audit dealt with the performance of the entities involved in the fight against doping, including the Minister of Sports and Tourism, the national ant-doping agency, an accredited anti-doping laboratory, and several Polish sports associations. In the opinion of NIK, the changes in the anti-doping regulations introduced since 2016, and the way these have been implemented by the Polish Anti-Doping Agency, allow for more efficient and more effective fight against doing in competitive sports.
