Therapy Program for Improving the Expression Speech Prosody

The article presents the authors’ own program aimed at improving the expression of prosody in patients with dysprosody, at shaping speech prosody in children, and improving prosodic skills of adult speakers. The program consists of exercises improving the expression of individual prosodic features and phenomena, as well as the realization of prosody functions in communication. The presented solutions are based on published findings concerning the realization of prosodic phenomena in speech pathology and in normal speech, and the methodology of logopedic management in activities serving to build prosodic skills.

W artykule dokonano prezentacji autorskiego programu przeznaczonego do usprawniania ekspresji prozodii u osób z dysprozodią, kształtowania prozodii mowy u dzieci, a także doskonalenia sprawności prozodycznych dorosłych mówców. Na program składają się ćwiczenia usprawniające ekspresję poszczególnych cech i zjawisk prozodycznych oraz realizację funkcji prozodii w komunikacji. Przedstawione w nim rozwiązania opierają się na opublikowanych w literaturze ustaleniach dotyczących realizacji zjawisk prozodycznych w patologii mowy i w normie oraz metodyki postępowania logopedycznego w działaniach służących budowaniu sprawności prozodycznych.

The article is an attempt to organize the issues related to the diagnosis of prosodic skills in people with dysphonia. The tasks it deals with concern the features of prosodic characteristics of speech, mainly in relation to the Polish language, the functions performed by prosody in communication, the relationship of certain features of phonation to the speaker’s realisation of these functions and the disorders of their realisation in people with dysphonia. It also presents the methods and tools used in the description and evaluation of prosodic expression, which can be used in clinical practice.

Artykuł stanowi próbę uporządkowania problematyki związanej z diagnozą sprawności prozodycznych u osób z dysfonią. Zagadnienia w nim poruszane dotyczą cech charakterystyki prozodycznej mowy, głównie w odniesieniu do języka polskiego, funkcji pełnionych przez prozodię w komunikacji, związku określonych cech fonacji z realizowaniem przez mówcę tych funkcji oraz zaburzeniami ich realizacji u osób z dysfonią. Wymieniono w nim również metody i narzędzia wykorzystywane w opisie i ocenie ekspresji prozodycznej, które można wykorzystać w praktyce klinicznej.
