This article is meant to be a contribution to the study of the multifaceted nature of taboo and euphemism that represent those linguistic mechanisms that are created by the working of both overt and covert social and psychological factors. And so, the process of sense derogation goes hand in hand with euphemisation, the process of using a new word to refer to an item or concept that for various reasons language users hesitate to talk about straightforwardly. Once a euphemism is accepted, the original term that has been subject to replacement tends to become even less acceptable, undergoing the process of accelerated pejoration. Above the individual level, the use of a particular lexical item may be interdicted by the rules imposed by a given society or a certain sphere within a given society. The mechanisms of taboo and euphemism affect lexical items relatable to various levels of the Great Chain of Being, starting with the supra-human layer where there is the sphere of gods that has been universally subject to taboo, but also animal world where hunting taboos must ultimately be treated as a verbal tactic to obscure the hunter’s intentions; the usage rules are motivated by the fear that the hunted animals may understand the hunters’ speech and intentions.

The article is by its nature interdisciplinary and presents the legal basis and personality disorders in psychological opinions resulting in valid consent to marriage in the object consensual aspect. The article presents the institution of marital consent as a causal cause of marriage and shows its object consensual invalidity in the analysis of personality disorders of type „B” antisocial, histronic, borderline, narcissistic. These psychological causes of invalidity of marriage are grouped into gender, etiology of disorder, dysfunctionality. The article is based on the analysis of selected cases from the years 2012–2016 which were judged at the Diocesan Tribunal in Torun. The analysis was presented by the author for all personality disorders with psychological, legal and statistical conclusions of the following articles: „Personality disorders as a cause of the invalidation of Catholic Marriage in Poland, The Person and the Challenges”, vol.10 (2020) n 1, pp. 193–213 and Personality disorders as a cause of consensual incapacity for canonical marriage, „Culture and Education” 2020 no. 1 (127), pp. 125–146. All data and case details used for the above analyses were used in accordance with the principle of the Data Protection Act which are subject to the protections and safeguards of the Regulation, in particular the principle of data minimisation and anonymisation.

Artykuł ze swej natury ma charakter interdyscyplinarny i przedstawia podstawy prawne oraz zaburzenia osobowości w opiniach psychologicznych skutkujących wyrażeniem ważnej zgody na małżeństwo w aspekcie konsensualnym przedmiotowym. Artykuł prezentuje instytucje zgody małżeńskiej jako przyczyny sprawczej małżeństwa i ukazuje jej nieważność konsensualną przedmiotową w analizie zaburzeń osobowości wiązki typu „B” antyspołeczne, histrioniczne, borderline, narcystyczne. Wyszczególnione przyczyny natury psychicznej, powodujące nieważność małżeństwa, zostały pogrupowane według płci, etiologii zaburzeń, dysfunkcyjności. Artykuł opiera się na analizie wybranych spraw w Sądzie Biskupim Diecezji Toruńskiej SBDT z lat 2012–2016. Analiza została zaprezentowana przez autora w zakresie wszystkich zaburzeń osobowości, wraz z wnioskami psychologicznymi, prawnymi i statystycznymi w następujących artykułach: Personality disorders as a cause of the invalidation of Catholic Marriage in Poland, „The Person and the Challenges”, vol.10 (2020) n 1, ss. 193–213 oraz Zaburzenia osobowości jako przyczyna niezdolności konsensualnej do zawarcia małżeństwa kanonicznego, „Kultura i Edukacja” 2020 nr 1 (127), ss. 125–146. Wszelkie dane i przypadki spraw wykorzystane do powyższych analiz zostały użyte zgodnie z zasadą RODO o przetwarzaniu danych osobowych w celach badań naukowych, które podlegają ochronie i zabezpieczeniom wynikającym z Rozporządzenia, a w szczególności zasadzie minimalizacji i anonimizacji danych.
