Tekst omawia temat innowacyjnych okładek drukowanych magazynów ilustrowanych na przykładzie miesięcznika „Empire”. W artykule zdefiniowano termin „okładka innowacyjna”, osadzając to zjawisko w kategoriach innowacji wydawniczych. Przedstawiono także skutki, techniki i częstotliwość występowania innowacji okładkowych w miesięczniku „Empire”, wnioskując na podstawie analizy z lat 2012–2015.

The paper discusses innovative covers in illustrated printed magazines referencing to the example of the “Empire” monthly. It defines the term of “innovative cover”, and further gives an overview of innovation in the publishing industry. Through a case study of the “Empire” monthly (2012-2015), techniques and frequency of innovative covers have also been discussed.
