The issue of renunciation of succession in favour of another person has been the subject of con-stant interest in Polish legal science for years. It results from the importance of legal problems ari-sing from the regulation of this institution and its social importance. Further reflection in this re-gard is justified by the fact that the issue of renunciation of succession in favour of another per-son has recently been the subject of a normative change. On May 22, 2023, entered into force Article 129 point 12 of the Family Foundation Act, which amended the Civil Code, in particular by adding § 3 in Article 1048, according to which the renunciation of succession in favour of another person shall be deemed in case of doubt to be the renunciation on condition that such person will inherit.
