This paper deals with the issue of responsibility of a consecrated virgin for her formation, part of which is discernment in spiritual direction. It brings up the question of persons who can serve a consecrated virgin with spiritual guidance, namely the spiritual director, the permanent confessor, and the diocesan bishop. It discusses the sources of spiritual life, which are the Word of God, i.e., Scripture and Tradition, the spirituality of the consecrated virgin and liturgy, and the voice of the heart, in the aspect of spiritual direction. The issue of obedience and internal resistance in spiritual direction is addressed. The process of individual discernment as it relates to spiritual direction is also discussed.

Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje kwestię odpowiedzialności dziewicy konsekrowanej za swoją formację, czego częścią jest rozeznawanie w kierownictwie duchowym. Poruszono w nim kwestię osób, które służą dziewicy konsekrowanej w kierownictwie duchowym, a więc kierownika duchowego, stałego spowiednika i biskupa diecezjalnego. Omówiono źródła życia duchowego, jakimi są słowo Boże, czyli Pismo Święte i Tradycja, duchowość dziewicy konsekrowanej i liturgia, a także głos serca, w aspekcie kierownictwa duchowego. Poruszono kwestię posłuszeństwa i oporu wewnętrznego w kierownictwie duchowym. Zajęto się procesem indywidualnego rozeznawania, które dotyczy kierownictwa duchowego.

y Jesuit spirituality grows out of the roots of the Spiritual Exercises. It is in the Exercises, thanks to them and through them, that every Jesuit forms his mind and heart. Also the spirituality of Pope Francis grows from the Ignatian roots, and he is the spiritual son of Saint Ignatius. Ignatian spirituality is characterised by seeking and finding God in everything, to love Him and to serve Him in all aspects. Also for Jorge Bergoglio, the world is the mission environment, help in the mission and the object of the mission. Everyone is sent to a „such” and not different world, to the world in which they live and which needs redemption, transformation and a return to the Source. Return to God is through prayer and discernment. In Ignatian spirituality, prayer and spiritual discernment are closely related. There is no truly Christian spiritual discernment without prayer. However, true prayer always leads to authentic spiritual discernment. In the thought of Saint Ignatius through prayer and discernment the human being becomes a tool to love and serve God in everything. The purpose of the article is to show the Ignatian roots of the spirituality of Pope Francis, in the centre of which is the message of God’s mercy.

Duchowość jezuitów wyrasta z korzeni, jakimi są Ćwiczenia duchowe. To w nich, dzięki nim i na ich drodze każdy jezuita formuje swój umysł i serce. Duchowość papieża Franciszka także wyrasta z ignacjańskich korzeni, bo jest on duchowym synem św. Ignacego. Duchowość ignacjańska charakteryzuje się szukaniem i znajdowaniem Boga we wszystkim, aby Go miłować i służyć Mu we wszystkich rzeczach. Także dla Jorge Bergoglio świat jest pomocą w misji oraz jej obiektem misji. Wszyscy są posłani do takiego a nie innego świata, do świata, w którym żyją i który potrzebuje odkupienia, przemiany oraz powrotu do Źródła. Powrót do Boga dokonuje się przez modlitwę i rozeznawanie. W duchowości ignacjańskiej modlitwa i rozeznawanie duchowe są ściśle powiązane. Nie ma prawdziwie chrześcijańskiego rozeznania duchowego bez modlitwy. Natomiast prawdziwa modlitwa zawsze prowadzi do autentycznego rozeznawania duchowego. W myśli św. Ignacego przez modlitwę i rozeznawanie człowiek staje się narzędziem, aby kochać i służyć Bogu we wszystkim. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie ignacjańskich korzeni duchowości papieża Franciszka, w której centrum znajduje się przesłanie o Bożym miłosierdziu.

Discernment of God’s will and its fulfillment consist one of the most important tasks of every Christian. God calls His faithful people to discern everything that is pleasing to Him (see Ephesians 5:10). “The gift of discernment has become all the more necessary today” (Pope Francis, Gaudete and exsultate, no. 167). In response to this call of God, the writings of St. Ignatius Loyola can be of great help, especially his Spiritual Exercises.In this article, I undertake the analysis of the Rules the discernment of spirits and the Rules of making a good and reasonable choice, placing them in the context of the necessary requirements for spiritual discernment and in the framework of the indispensable conditions that must be met. Deeply spiritual, universal, timeless and at the same time very precise and pragmatic instructions of St. Ignatius can serve as an extraordinary help, also for the contemporary Christians, in the process of proper discernment of the concrete will of God and its fulfillment in the power of the Holy Spirit in our everyday life.

Rozeznawanie woli Bożej i jej wypełnianie stanowią jedne z najważniejszych zadań, jakie stają przed każdym chrześcijaninem. Bóg wzywa ludzi wierzących, aby rozeznawali wszystko, co jest miłe Panu (por. Ef 5, 10). „Dzisiaj szczególnie potrzebna stała się postawa rozeznawania” (Papież Franciszek, Gaudete et exsultate, nr 167). Szczególną pomocą w odpowiedzi na to wezwanie Pana Boga są pisma św. Ignacego Loyoli, zwłaszcza jego Ćwiczenia duchowe.W niniejszym artykule podejmuję analizę ignacjańskich Reguł rozeznawania duchów oraz Reguł dokonywania wyboru, umieszczając je w kontekście potrzeby rozeznawania duchowego oraz niezbędnych warunków, jakie należy spełniać, aby było ono możliwe. Głęboko duchowe, uniwersalne, ponadczasowe, a jednocześnie precyzyjne i pragmatyczne wskazówki św. Ignacego są niezwykłą pomocą, także dla współczesnych chrześcijan, w procesie właściwego rozeznania konkretnej woli Bożej i wypełniania jej w codziennym życiu mocą Ducha Świętego.

Since the moment of creation God has been in active dialogue with mankind. Through sin this dialogue was made more difficult. That’s why words uttered by people in the name of the Lord need spiritual discernment. The church is based on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. Words authentically inspired by God lead to the strengthening of the Church and to increasing peace and love. However there are also false prophecies. Spiritual discernment needs to be applied not only to the contents of the prophecies but also to the prophets themselves. What is essential is their congruity with the teaching of the Church but also their fruits in the community. In the heart of the Charismatic Renewal is hearing what the Holy Spirit wants say today, discernment of these inspirations and pass it on the people. The main responsible for their spiritual discernment should be the leaders of the community, especially the priests and the bishops.

Bóg od chwili stworzenia prowadzi dialog z człowiekiem. Przez grzech został on bardzo utrudniony. Dlatego słowa wypowiedziane przez ludzi w imieniu Boga podlegają duchowemu rozeznawaniu. Kościół jest zbudowany na fundamencie apostołów i proroków. Słowa wypływające z autentycznego natchnienia Bożego budują Kościół i przyczyniają się do pomnożenia pokoju oraz wzrostu w miłości. Istnieją jednak również fałszywe proroctwa. Rozeznawaniu duchowemu podlega nie tylko treść proroctw, lecz również osoba proroka. Liczy się zarówno ich zgodność z nauką Kościoła, jak również owoce, jakie rodzą one we wspólnocie, do której są skierowane. W sercu Katolickiej Odnowy Charyzmatycznej jest wsłuchiwanie się w słowa Boże, rozeznawanie ich i przekazywanie innym. Pierwszymi odpowiedzialnymi za ich duchowe rozeznawanie są odpowiedzialni za wspólnotę, a w sposób szczególny prezbiterzy i biskupi.

Szczególnym miejscem rozeznawania duchowego jest kierownictwo duchowe, które należy rozumieć jako pomoc w stawaniu się dojrzałym w wierze, w otwieraniu się na działanie Ducha Świętego. Celem jest rozwój człowieka, czyli stawanie się podobnym do Jezusa Chrystusa. Kierownictwo duchowe może być również definiowane jako przekazywanie wiary przez osobę podejmującą się funkcji kierownika duchowego. Celem jest pozwolenie, aby w osobie kierowanej wzrastał Chrystus. W świetle Mt 28, 19 sprawowanie kierownictwa jest wpisane w strukturę hierarchiczną Kościoła. Przedmiotem rozeznawania w sakramencie pokuty winno być odkrywanie sposobu udzielania się Boga, a także Jego woli. Kierownik winien nieustannie zwracać uwagę na harmonijny wzrost modlitwy i pokory u penitenta, biorąc pod uwagę i rozumiejąc wszystkie zdolności osoby kierowanej, jej słabości oraz łaski udzielane przez Ducha Świętego.

Il discepolo di Cristo è invitato di esercitare il discernimento spirituale e il discernimento degli spiriti. Quando si tratta di discernimento spirituale, bisogna intendere „spirituale” come livello al quale si esercita il discernimento. San Paolo insegna che i cristiani hanno ricevuto lo Spirito di Dio, per poter distinguere ciò che viene da Dio (cf. 1 Cor 2, 12). Quando si parla di discernimento degli spiriti, si tratta del ogetto a cui si applica il discernimento (situazioni di spirito, luci, mozioni e pure gli spiriti – esseri di natura personale – che agiscono nell’uomo). Solo l’uomo „spirituale” è capace di esercitare il discernimento spirituale. Nella Bibbia si trovano i dati, che aiutano a distinguere l’agire dello spirito maligno, dello „spirito della natura umana”, e pure dello Spirito Santo. La chiave fondamentale del discernimento sono le parole di Cristo riportate dal Vangelo. Sulla base biblica e tradizione ecclesiale, la Chiesa può riscoprire le nuove regole del discernimento, se lo necessita la situazione.
