The paper shows the main problems that the researcher may encounter in implementing CAWI research when used towards the respondents participating in research panels. In particular the paper discusses the problems associated with the identification of the phenomenon of professional panelist and ways to deal with this phenomenon. Other pitfalls that arise in the development of the data from studies conducted in research panels are also described. The most important are: how to aggregate data, and how to present data. Special emphasis was put on using a simple tool which is a words cloud. The other problem was discovered when analyzing the effects of methodological individualism seen in defining indicators. The main goal of this article is to open the discussion on standards of research conducted by CAWI method especially applied to survey within research panels. The thesis of the article is that: the project methodology used in the management of a research panel puts the researcher, wanting to keep the standards of scientific cognition, in front of complexed methodological issues, not all of which have simple solutions. Left unanswered is the question whether studies conducted among the panelists who are members of the research panel must or should apply the standards of scientific research.
Kontekstowe objaśnienia tych obiektów relatywizowano do sytuacji poznawczej potencjalnych odbiorców. Uwzględniano zarówno adeptów, jak i profesjonalnie zainteresowanych refleksją nad czynnościowo i wytworowo ujmowaną nauką. Podjęte zagadnienia są rozpatrywane poprzez stopniowe dyskusje aspektywnie wyselekcjonowanych problemów. W rozpatrywanej perspektywie należą do nich: ramowe stanowiska; terminy-klucze; statyka/dynamika nauki; rewolucje w filozofii nauki; dwa konteksty; nowa filozofia nauki; nurt normatywny i deskryptywny; kategoria rewolucji naukowych; super-, supra- i maksiteorie jako jednostki ponadteoretyczne; problematyka aksjologiczna; pluralizm filozofii nauki; problem/teoria problemu; wartość — kategoria z zakresu aksjologii epistemicznej; dalsze zagadnienia filozofii nauki; charakterystyka opracowania.

The opposition between statics and dynamics of science in the entire content of the paper is supposed. We understand science as natural science(s). The selection of categories as an object of examining is directed by reasons generated through scientific and metascientific practice. Contextual elucidations are related to actual situation of potential receivers. Among them are so students as well as professional scientists interested in solving scientific problems. To do so the following questions, namely: background standpoints; key-terms; statics/dynamics of science; revolutions in the philosophy of science; two contexts; new philosophy of science; descriptive and normative trends; scientific revolutions category; super-, supra- and maxitheories; problems of epistemic axiology; philosophy of science pluralism; problem/theory of problem; value — category of epistemic axiology; other questions of the philosophy of science; characteristic of the entire elaboration is subsequently discussed.
Przywołując funkcjonujące w metodologii nauk zasadnicze sposoby rozumienia nauki (typy desygnatów nazwy „nauka”), ujęcie metodologii nauk wyznaczone przez Szkołę lwowsko-warszawską (Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz, Tadeusz Kotarbiński) i tradycję metodologiczną KUL, będącą jej kontynuacją (Stanisław Kamiński), typy metodologii, współczesne anglosaskie ujęcia filozofii nauki oraz rozumienie analizy metodologicznej, próbuję wskazać w miarę całościową mapę kategorii metodologicznych wyznaczających przedmiot badań metodologii nauk.

The new category of methodological structures introduced by Zygmunt Hajduk (2016) has not been applied in methodological investigations and does not have a firm position. Hence, two questions arise: what function should it fulfill in scientific methodology (philosophy of science), and is it suitable as a general methodological notion? My main question is: can Hajduk’s methodological structures serve as the most general category determining the research object of scientific methodology? My answer is in the negative. The argument proceeds as follows: first, some important contexts for the discussion are evoked. These include the basic notions of science (types of things signified by “science”), the conception of scientific methodology by the Lvov-Warsaw School (Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz, Tadeusz Kotarbiński) and its continuation in the form of the methodological tradition of KUL (Stanisław Kamiński), different types of scientific methodology, contemporary Anglo-Saxon conceptions of the philosophy of science, and the concept of methodological analysis. With these contexts in mind, I sketch a reasonably comprehensive map of the methodological categories that determine the research object of scientific methodology. Next, the map is critically compared to the category of methodological structures, which are understood as the most general methodological notion determining the object of scientific methodology. In my opinion Hajduk’s category is too narrow to be the most general methodological notion denoting the object of scientific methodology. Additionally, Hajduk’s catalog of methodological structures studied by the methodology of science is analyzed and found wanting.
In this article the author discusses Dennis F. Polis’ defense of the compatibility of biological evolution and Thomistic metaphysics. Some of Polis’ methodological and metaphysical arguments are examined and it is explained why they are unfaithful to the Thomistic tradition of metaphysics. There is a discussion of why metaphysics can, within certain parameters, critique the science of evolutionary biology, as well as a discussion of the role of metaphysics in the hierarchy of the sciences. The relationship between biological species to the notion of species in philosophy, including related metaphysical topics, such as essences and Divine ideas in God, is discussed. It is determined that Polis’ view suffers from a kind of relativism and nominalism that is incompatible with the moderate realism of Aquinas. Some of Aquinas’ key existential insights in metaphysics are discussed in this context as well. In addition to being corrective, this essay helps point the way to a better defense of the compatibility of biological evolution and Thomistic metaphysics.
