In 1970 Płock Scientific Society made an effort to hold a PhD seminar. The authorities of the society perceived the problem of the development of scientific career as a very important for the development of academic of Płock. It is also important for satisfying inhabitants’ individual needs. The subject of the paper is organization of the seminar and the way it functions. The academic degree of doctor has been obtained by 35 persons. By holding seminar as a social organization, Płock Scientific Society operates in an unique manner on a national level. It has its part in increasing the developmental potential of Płock and Płock region. So far 300 PhD seminars have been organized.

Towarzystwo Naukowe Płockie w 1970 r. podjęło trud prowadzenia seminarium doktoranckiego. Władze stowarzyszenia postrzegały problem rozwoju kadry naukowej za bardzo istotny dla rozwoju akademickości Płocka, jak też ważny dla zaspokojenia indywidualnych potrzeb mieszkańców. Przedmiotem pracy jest organizacja i funkcjonowanie seminarium. Stopień doktora dotychczas uzyskało 35 osób. Towarzystwo Naukowe Płockie prowadząc seminarium jako organizacja społeczna działa w sposób wyjątkowy w skali kraju. W ten sposób przyczynia się do powiększania potencjału rozwojowego Płocka i regionu płockiego. Dotychczas odbyło się 300 seminarium doktoranckich.
