This paper is concerned with the Catholic priest Dominik Pecka and focuses on his contributions to education and his successful efforts to intertwine educational aims with the priestly vocation in the context of the so-called spiritual renewal of Czech Catholicism in the 1930s. Furthermore, the study presents important aspects of research into changes of priestly identity in the Czech Catholic milieu in the years 1890–1938. Several examples of reactions to the crisis of identity in the priesthood are highlighted. In addition, references are made to various approaches to the priestly vocation in order to better understand this topic within the said historical period. The paper also aims towards a deeper understanding of Dominik Pecka’s decision to stress the educational dimension of his pastoral work, as well as of specific situations that forced priests to reconsider their role in a modern secular society.

The article undertakes the issue related to the allegation of the so called pentecostalisation of the Catholic Church in Poland formulated by A. Kobyliński and A. Czaja. The reference point for relatively a broad-based view at this issue is a reflection made by A. Siemieniewski, who has been analysing this phenomenon in the context of Europe, Latin America and China. The term pentecostalisation itself is polysemic and is used for describing 1) Pentecostal awakening and establishing and development of new charismatic churches. 2) gradual transformation of many Churches, communities and Christian denominations into characteristic new version of charismatic devotion with easily to observe common elements in the scale of the whole globe. 3) Catholic Charismatic Renewal, recognized and approved by the Holy See. The article gathers the existing reflection on the issue also pointing to other authors, who in their delvings referring to the documents of the Holy See, popes’ teaching, the documents of episcopates of individual countries point to pentecostalisation as the usual state of the Church, which aſter all manifested itself to the world on the day of Pentecost.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie związane z tzw. zarzutem pentekostalizacji Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce formułowanym przede wszystkim przez A. Kobylińskiego i A. Czaję. Punktem odniesienia do względnie całościowego spojrzenia na problematykę jest refleksja A. Siemieniewskiego, który od lat analizuje to zjawisko w kontekście Europy, Ameryki Łacińskiej i Chin. Sam termin pentekostalizacja jest wieloznaczeniowy i używa się go w celu opisania 1. przebudzenia zielonoświątkowego oraz powstawania i rozkwitu nowych kościołów charyzmatycznych, 2. stopniowej transformacji wielu Kościołów, wspólnot i denominacji chrześcijańskich w charakterystyczną nową wersję pobożności charyzmatycznej, o łatwych do zaobserwowania wielu elementach wspólnych w skali całego globu, 3. ruchu Odnowy w Duchu Świętym rozpoznanym i zaaprobowanym przez Stolicę Apostolską. Artykuł zbiera dotychczasową refleksję w temacie wskazując również na innych autorów, którzy w swoich dociekaniach odwołując się np. do dokumentów Stolicy Apostolskiej, nauczania papieży, dokumentów episkopatów poszczególnych krajów wskazują na pentekostalizację, jako na zwyczajny stan Kościoła, który przecież objawił się światu w dzień Pięćdziesiątnicy.
