The conceptual structure of the institute of democratic civic consciousness with the effect of symbolic component influence on the process of formation of the Institute for Democratic Citizenship is determined in this work. In this investigation are used the institutional approach for the understanding of civic consciousness as a political institution and determination of the conceptual framework of the components of citizenship through its social purpose as part of the community which is a bearer of identity as the source of personality and ability to organize themselves in a political context. With the help of the psychological approach the essence of the functioning of the institute of civic consciousness is considered, where an important role is played by symbolic component. The analysis of the survey on the impact of political symbols on the mood of students of the Southern region of Ukraine which were conducted by the author in December 2014 is provided. The influence of internal and external challenges of the Ukrainian society of the end of 2013th and beginning of 2015th on the formation of a collective citizenship i.e. civic consciousness as a political practice is investigated. The study has scientific and practical value and the purpose of determining the strategy of the national policy of political socialization of citizens, taking into account the effect of unifying influence of the state national symbols and national language.

Вербальний символ – це багатопланова відкрита семантична структура, що має здатність в одному контексті виявляти кілька символічних значень одночасно. Проблеми лексикографічної фіксації та, відповідно, визначення семантики символу зумовлена його складною внутрішньою природою, неоднозначністю тлумачення, залежністю інтерпретації від індивідуального прочитання тексту та символу в ньому. Кожне нове прочитання навіть того самого чи іншого тексту викликатиме нові асоціації та нову інтерпретацію, залучатиме до цього процесу інші тексти й символи. Дослідження присвячено проблемам лексикографічної фіксації традиційних вербальних символів. Найбільше можливостей мають словники обрядової лексики, у яких за описом слова часто прихований символічний зміст.

A verbal symbol is a multifaceted, open semantic structure capable of displaying simultaneously several symbolic values in a single context. The issues of lexicographical fixation and, thus, determination of the semantics of a symbol are predetermined by its complex internal nature, the ambiguity of interpretation, dependency of the interpretation on an individual reading of a text and the symbol in it. Symbol semantics is remotely related to the fact that a word symbol is still a linguistic fact and stores information about the word’s historical development. Oftentimes, these semantics are fixed in secondary, figurative senses. Every new reading of even one or another text will invoke new associations and new interpretations, and will involve other texts and symbols in the process. The research is devoted to issues of lexicographic fixation of traditional verbal symbols. The biggest potential lies in dictionaries of ritual vocabulary, in which, description of a word often conceals a symbolic meaning. However, usually even a ceremonial symbol is lexicographically represented in a non-uniform way. The symbolic value is indicated by a description of the function of reality in the ritual, or equated with a figurative value.
