The main aim of this article is to present the cluster as an implementation instrument for sustainable tourism on tourism destinations. In article the author short presented the theory of clusters with modern references to concept of sustainable development and tourism. In the base of case study cluster “Beskidzka 5”, author showed the possibilities in realize sustainable tourism, which are functioning by used multi-stakeholder cooperation. The cluster “Beskidzka 5” brings together a lot of entities private and public sectors in five communities of Beskid Slaski – Brenna, Istebna, Szczyrk, Wisla, Ustron (what a parts of Silesian voivodeship in Poland). The fundamental aim of cluster “Beskidzka 5” is tourism development in these five communities. Realized of the main aim of this article allowed to defined several theoretical applications. Their content may be an impulse for more actions into fruition of sustainable tourism.

Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie klastra jako instrumentu wdrażania turystyki zrównoważonej na obszarach recepcji. W artykule została krótko omówiona teoria klastrów wraz z jej współczesnym odniesieniem do koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz turystyki. Wykorzystując przykład porozumienia na rzecz rozwoju turystyki pięciu gmin Beskidu Śląskiego w formie klastra „Beskidzka 5” (gminy: Brenna, Istebna, Szczyrk, Wisła, Ustroń), autor pragnie przedstawić możliwość realizacji turystyki zrównoważonej na podstawie wielopodmiotowej współpracy. Realizacja głównego celu, oparta na wyróżnionym przykładzie, pozwoliła wysnuć kilka wniosków mających charakter teoriopoznawczy. Ich treść może stanowić podstawę do działań na rzecz urzeczywistnienia turystyki zrównoważonej.

Problematyka klastrów jest obecnie „gorącym" tematem, który porusza zarówno środowisko badaczy, jak i praktyków. Poszukuje się wzorcowych rozwiązań i skutecznych metodyk tworzenia i rozwoju klastrów. Jednak stuletnia \ „historia" klastrów zaowocowała w wiele koncepcji, które pokazują złożoność \ problemu. Artykuł stanowi próbę syntezy teorii powstawania i definiowania klastrów. Zaprezentowano nową typologię klastrów opartą na czterech wymiarach: przemysłowo-sektorowym, geograficzno-aglomeracyjnym, naukowo-badawczym oraz społeczno-gospodarczym i międzyorganizacyjnym, związanych z modelem poczwórnej helisy. Elementy identyfikujące klaster oraz typ klastra są podstawą każdej diagnozy. Zakładając, że analiza ma swój konkretny cel, zaprezentowano model analizy klastra, który przedstawia obszary niezbędne do dalszych szczegółowych badań.

The subject of clusters is currently the "hot" issue which affects both the environment of researchers as well as practitioners. There are searches for model solutions and effective methodologies of clusters creation and development. However, the hundred-year "history" of clusters has resulted in many concepts which show the complexity of the problem. The article attempts to synthesize the theory of emerging and defining clusters. It presents a new typology of clusters based on four dimensions: industry and sector, geography and agglomeration, scientific research and socio-economic and inter-organizational dimension of cluster, which are connected with the model of quadruple helix. The factors which identify cluster and the type of cluster are the fundamentals of each diagnosis. Making an assumption that each analysis has its specific goal, the article presents the model of cluster analysis which depicts the areas necessary for further detailed research.
