The Kashubian language was introduced as a school subject in 1991. In the school year 2013/2014, the number of students attending Kashubi-an classes amounted to 17,145. They were taught the language by ca. 620 teachers in 420 schools: 13,850 in 293 primary schools, 2,688 in 103 junior secondary schools and 607 in 24 senior secondary schools. The aim of this paper is to present the results of a questionnaire investi-gating the training needs of Kashubian teachers. It appears that they would willingly attend courses or workshops in all the areas mentioned in the questionnaire, including, inter alia, language teaching methodolo-gy as well as Kashubian literature, culture and history. It is no surprise that the demand for such courses is so high since the core curricula for all school levels emphasize the importance of teaching Kashubian cul-ture, history and geography alongside the Kashubian language.

Employees are the most important asset of any organisation, and this is true especially when discussing about service sector to which medical entities belong. Keeping competent employees in the organisation is becoming one of the most essential objectives of all medical entities. The objective of the study was to assess training needs of the intermediate level medical staff employed in the Independent Public Health Care Clinic. The research was carried out in 2016 in the group of 76 people of medical staff (nurses, physiotherapists, laboratory diagnosticians and electroradiology technicians) employed in a medical entity in Świętokrzyskie province. Complete data was collected from 46 employees in total. Participation in the research was voluntary. An interview method was applied in order to assess individual needs of medical staff as far as training and the competence development were concerned. A specially prepared questionnaire was used in the research. Over a half (58%) of the employees taking part in the research realised the need of professional training. They declared that the most welcome forms and methods of training would be lectures (52%) and workshops (48.3%). Self-study and e-learning were not preferred by most of the respondents. The range of subject matter for training which was pointed out by the respondents coincides with the current epidemiological situation in Poland.

This article addresses the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), which concerns extensive collaboration between different actors at all stages of the R&D process and emphasises the prevention of the potential negative impact of innovations. RRI has been incorporated as a key concept of Horizon 2020, the European Commission's framework programme for 2014-2020. The purpose of this article is twofold. First, it serves to present and explain the concept of RRI. Secondly, it aims to describe the degree of familiarity and practical implementation of the RRI concept in the Polish innovation system among scientific and business institutions and formulate training needs in this area. Research questions have been answered based on in-depth interviews conducted with representatives of various institutions of the Polish innovation system. The study results show that despite the lack of familiarity with the definition of RRI, similar concepts are known, and practices concerning particular aspects of RRI, including ethics, public engagement and gender equality, are implemented to some extent. Finally, the most critical barriers to the implementation of the RRI concept have been identified.

The article is an attempt at diagnosing training needs of the employees of units operating in health care sector in the Podkarpacie Province. In times of permanent changes affecting each sphere of economy, providers of health care services cannot afford to remain outside this trend. Improving qualifications, adaptability of the offer, influencing its quality, and above all, the awareness of the necessity of these changes, have become an element which is fully integrated also with this sphere of public sector operations. Taking into account the above, the article verifies not only training needs articulated by employees of Health Care Centers (HCC) operating in the Podkarpacie Province, but also the way they are perceived by the managers of these centers, the ability to define training needs and their compatibility with characteristic features of analyzed HCCs. Therefore special emphasis has been placed on demonstrating the variety of diagnosed training needs with reference to such criteria as the size of analyzed centers, the market serviced by them, and their location. These determinants allowed us to conduct a complex analysis of conditions and structure of voiced need for subject training, and as a consequence, contributed to diagnosing the expectations of the health care sector concerning initiatives improving the quality of public services in the health care services area.
