W artykule uwaga została skoncentrowana na rodzinie jako źródle kapitału społecznego. Przedstawiono wybrane problemy definicyjne oraz badawcze dotyczące funkcjonowania kapitału społecznego w kontekście przemian więzi rodzinnych, struktury rodziny i pokrewieństwa. W pierwszej części zarysowano miejsce, jakie zajmuje rodzina w teorii i typologii kapitału społecznego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem podziału na wiążący i pomostowy kapitał społeczny. Kolejna część poświęcona jest konceptualizacji rodzinnego kapitału społecznego. Zwrócono uwagę na zróżnicowanie dostępu do zasobów społecznych wewnątrz rodziny. Artykuł kończy omówienie relacji między zmianami społeczno-kulturowymi a kapitałem społecznym. Przedmiotem zainteresowania są zmiany wzorów życia rodzinnego i ich znaczenie dla zasobów kapitału społecznego.

In the article the attention is focused on the family as a source of social capital. The article presents some defning and research problems concerning the functioning of social capital in the context of changes in the bonds within a family, in its structure and relationships. The frst part depicts the place the family occupies in the theory and typology of social capital, in particular in the division into bonding and bridging social capital. The next part is devoted to the conceptualisation of the family’s social capital. Special attention has been paid to the diversifcation of the access to social resources within a family. The last part of the article describes the relations between socio-cultural changes and social capital; this time special attention is paid to the changes in family life patterns and their signifcance to the resources of social capital.
