The article shows relations between methodology of WCM and strategy of supplier by choice. In the article basic pillars of WCM were characterized to answer: how they are involved in realization of the strategy. Mentioned strategy is performed in metallurgical enterprise ArcelorMittal Poland within pillars of World Class Manufacturing (WCM). WCM standards are based on the assumption „banish waste and create wealth in your corporation” (J.P. Womack, D.T. Jones, Lean Thinking: Banish Waste and Create Wealth in Your Corporation, Simon & Schuster, New York 2002). Some examples of the activity were presented in the article.

Celem niniejszej publikacji jest pokazanie przykładowych działań implementowanych w przedsiębiorstwach w ramach poszczególnych filarów Produkcji Klasy Światowej (WCM) i doskonalących jego pozycję. Rozważania teoretyczne wzbogacono analizą case study. Jako studium przypadku posłużyło przedsiębiorstwo hutnicze ArcelorMittal Poland, które dąży do uzyskania pozycji rynkowej producenta (dostawcy) o wymogach światowych w ramach założeń metodologii WCM.

The article analyzes the problem of identifiable losses in the operations of the company. The analysis is based on examples of losses in manufacturing company in steel industry. Prepared analysis is based on a limited number of identifiable losses in selected internal processes of the metallurgical company. Particular components of the matrix of losses analysis are useful for the identification and classification losses in World Class Manufacturing (WCM).

W artykule przybliżono problematykę analizy strat identyfikowalnych w działalności operacyjnej przedsiębiorstwa. Analizę oparto na przykładach strat przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego branży hutniczej. Przygotowana analiza jest oparta na ograniczonej liczbie strat identyfikowalnych w wybranych procesach wewnętrznych badanego przedsiębiorstwa. Poszczególne komponenty matrycy analizy strat są użyteczne w identyfikacji i klasyfikacji strat według metodologii World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
