The authors discuss objective and subjective factors influencing slowing down of national economy transformation in Ukraine. They analyze results of researches carried out in 12 enterprises in Donieck region and 251 households. The researches show that the lowest readiness to accept the changes (considering mental and psychosocial aspect) are represented by both managers of big enterprises and their workers. Persons working in big enterprises think that their enterprises have bigger chance to survive in Ukrainian economy than small and medium private firms. It is a paradox if one considers economic condition of these big enterprises, promptitude and level of wages, conditions of work and work safety.
