Artykuł pokazuje, jak w świetle Bożego Miłosierdzia człowiek na nowo odkrywa i uświadamia sobie podstawową prawdę, że w jego sercu kryje się wielka tęsknota za miłością i głód Boga. Bóg sam zaprasza do słuchania tego, co mówi do człowieka przez słowa Pisma Świętego. Zaprasza, aby człowiek, słuchając, uświadomił sobie pełną miłości obecność Boga w swoim wnętrzu. Autor artykułu pokazuje, że ufnośćjest owocem relacji, w której człowiek wie, że jest kochany. Ufność zakłada tęsknotę za Bogiem i szczere poszukiwanie Go we wszystkim. Droga do ufności wyraża się w trzech postawach: w poszukiwaniu Boga w swoim wnętrzu, we wrażliwym słuchaniu Jego głosu we własnym sercu oraz w ufnym otwarciu się na Jego miłość i zanurzeniu w Jego miłosierdziu. Dzięki samotności, milczeniu i modlitwie człowiek odkrywa Źródło życia, które kryje się w głębi jego serca. W człowieku bowiem, w jego wnętrzu, jest źródło, z którego czerpie on życie i karmi swoją nadzieję. Zanurzenie w tym źródle miłosierdzia sprawia, że człowiek doświadcza wewnętrznej przemiany.

The article shows how in the light of God’s Mercy a human being rediscovers and realises the basic truth that in his/her heart is a great longing and hunger for God’s love. God invites to listen to what He says to humans through the words of the Holy Bible. He invites people to listen and realise the loving presence of God inside. The author of the article shows that trust is the fruit of a relationship in which a person knows that he/she is loved. Trust presupposes a longing for God and a sincere search for Him in everything. The road to trust is expressed in three attitudes: in seeking God inside; in sensitive listening to His voice in one’s heart; and in trustingly opening oneself to His love and immersion in His mercy. Thanks to loneliness, silence and prayer, a human being discovers the Source of life which lies deep inside his/her heart. In the human being, in his/her interior is the source from which he/she draws life and nourishes hope. Immersion in this source of mercy means that one experiences inner change.

y Jesuit spirituality grows out of the roots of the Spiritual Exercises. It is in the Exercises, thanks to them and through them, that every Jesuit forms his mind and heart. Also the spirituality of Pope Francis grows from the Ignatian roots, and he is the spiritual son of Saint Ignatius. Ignatian spirituality is characterised by seeking and finding God in everything, to love Him and to serve Him in all aspects. Also for Jorge Bergoglio, the world is the mission environment, help in the mission and the object of the mission. Everyone is sent to a „such” and not different world, to the world in which they live and which needs redemption, transformation and a return to the Source. Return to God is through prayer and discernment. In Ignatian spirituality, prayer and spiritual discernment are closely related. There is no truly Christian spiritual discernment without prayer. However, true prayer always leads to authentic spiritual discernment. In the thought of Saint Ignatius through prayer and discernment the human being becomes a tool to love and serve God in everything. The purpose of the article is to show the Ignatian roots of the spirituality of Pope Francis, in the centre of which is the message of God’s mercy.

Duchowość jezuitów wyrasta z korzeni, jakimi są Ćwiczenia duchowe. To w nich, dzięki nim i na ich drodze każdy jezuita formuje swój umysł i serce. Duchowość papieża Franciszka także wyrasta z ignacjańskich korzeni, bo jest on duchowym synem św. Ignacego. Duchowość ignacjańska charakteryzuje się szukaniem i znajdowaniem Boga we wszystkim, aby Go miłować i służyć Mu we wszystkich rzeczach. Także dla Jorge Bergoglio świat jest pomocą w misji oraz jej obiektem misji. Wszyscy są posłani do takiego a nie innego świata, do świata, w którym żyją i który potrzebuje odkupienia, przemiany oraz powrotu do Źródła. Powrót do Boga dokonuje się przez modlitwę i rozeznawanie. W duchowości ignacjańskiej modlitwa i rozeznawanie duchowe są ściśle powiązane. Nie ma prawdziwie chrześcijańskiego rozeznania duchowego bez modlitwy. Natomiast prawdziwa modlitwa zawsze prowadzi do autentycznego rozeznawania duchowego. W myśli św. Ignacego przez modlitwę i rozeznawanie człowiek staje się narzędziem, aby kochać i służyć Bogu we wszystkim. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie ignacjańskich korzeni duchowości papieża Franciszka, w której centrum znajduje się przesłanie o Bożym miłosierdziu.
