For a child with autism spectrum disorder, cutting hair, washing hair, and having hair combed by a hairdresser, is associated with intense emotions, stress, screaming, crying, the desire to escape, but also with pain. Finding a hairdresser who can handle a frightened, escaping child can be a challenge for a parent. This work aims at showing the process of building relationships between children with autism spectrum disorder and hairdressers specializing in taking care of hair of this unique group of customers. The paper shows how children, supported by their parents, deal with hypersensitivity during a visit to a hairdresser, and how hairdressers help them achieve their goal. The author discusses theoretical issues related to the origin, classification and general characteristics of autism spectrum disorders, paying particular attention to sensory hypersensitivity. Next, the author introduces the world of senses, analyzes the results of research using selected research tools. The study is closed with conclusions and a proposal of further actions and topics that can be tackled within the subject.

Dla dziecka z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu strzyżenie, mycie włosów, czesanie przez fryzjera wiąże się z ogromnymi emocjami, stresem, krzykiem, płaczem, chęcią ucieczki, ale również z bólem. Odnalezienie fryzjera, który będzie umiał poradzić sobie z przestraszonym, uciekającym dzieckiem, może być dla rodzica dużym wyzwaniem. Artykuł ma na celu ukazanie procesu budowania relacji pomiędzy dziećmi z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu a fryzjerami specjalizującymi się w strzyżeniu tej wyjątkowej grupy klientów. Artykuł dotyczy, w jaki sposób dzieci przy wsparciu rodziców radzą sobie z nadwrażliwością w trakcie wizyty u fryzjera, w jaki sposób fryzjerzy pomagają im osiągnąć zamierzony cel. Autor omawia zagadnienia teoretyczne związane z etiologią, klasyfikacją oraz ogólną charakterystyką zaburzeń ze spektrum autyzmu, zwracając szczególną uwagę na nadwrażliwość sensoryczną. W dalszej kolejności zapoznaje nas ze światem zmysłów, analizuje wyniki badań z wykorzystaniem wybranych narzędzi badawczych. Opracowanie kończy się podsumowaniem wniosków z badania oraz wynikającymi z nich propozycjami działań.
