The article presents the results of the analysis of the Polish media discourse on the problem of paedophilia cases and paedophilic acts among the clergy in the years 2013-2019. A particular emphasis in the analysis was placed on the events and components of the process known in social sciences as the moral panic. The study used the method of critical analysis of media discourse (the analysis covered portals known as right-wing, left-wing and liberal) along with the analysis of the existing data. The results of the study show that in Polish society there is a discursive overcoming of the topic of paedophilia and openness to the debate around ways to solve the problem, also on the side of church institutions. Over the past six years, there has been a significant transformation of public discourse on the subject of paedophilia cases of the clergy and postulated ways of solving the problem. The study observed the impact of the symbolic elites - politicians, journalists, members of organizations and people of culture on progressive changes at the level of perception of the phenomenon. During the analysis there was also noticed the process of creating a new enemy in the form of a sexual minority environment and the sexualization of children, which, in the opinion of the examined environments, is expected to increase the scale of paedophilia.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy polskiego dyskursu medialnego dotyczącego problemu pedofilii wśród duchownych w latach 2013-2019. Szczególny nacisk położono na składowe procesu określanego w naukach społecznych jako panika moralna. W badaniu zastosowano metodę krytycznej analizy dyskursu medialnego i analizę danych zastanych, w tym polityki władz. Omówiono działania interesariuszy zjawiska pedofilii, a także dynamikę działań, które podjęli w obrębie określonych obszarów polityki publicznej. Wyniki badania pozwalają stwierdzić, że w ciągu sześciu lat nastąpiły znaczące przemiany dyskursu - z początkowego wygaszania zainteresowania w merytoryczną walkę o zmiany na poziomie prawnym i instytucjonalnym. W badaniu zaobserwowano wpływ elit symbolicznych na postępujące zmiany percepcji zjawiska. Zauważono także i zbadano dyskursywne praktyki oddalania problemu, poprzez tworzenie nowego wroga w postaci środowisk mniejszości seksualnych.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki analizy polskiego dyskursu medialnego, dotyczącego tematu prawa do decydowania przez rodziców o sprawach związanych z własnymi dziećmi. Analiza dotyczy w szczególności tematu, który zdominował debatę w badanym okresie – bezpieczeństwa i dobra dzieci wobec ustawy obniżającej wiek objęcia obowiązkową edukacją szkolną. Temat ten pojawił się w dyskursie publicznym na przełomie 2008 i 2009 roku, powracając cyklicznie wraz z kolejnymi doniesieniami medialnymi oraz działaniami interesariuszy. W badaniu zastosowano dwie koncepcje: klasyczny model paniki moralnej Stanleya Cohena wraz z polemikami został uzupełniony koncepcją komunikowania się w sferze publicznej i budowania tożsamości zbiorowej w warunkach ostrego sporu. Pozwoliło to na lepszy wgląd w sferę publiczną, szczególnie w analizowanym temacie, zdominowanym przez emocjonalny przekaz. Analiza dyskursu wytworzonego na potrzeby debaty pozwala sądzić, że wzbudzenie nieadekwatnego do skali problemu zainteresowania mediów i społeczeństwa danym tematem prowadzi do realizowania rozmaitych interesów zaangażowanych w wywołanie paniki grup. Tematy społeczne i wyrastające obok nich inicjatywy społeczne stały się polem realizacji interesów politycznych.

The article presents the results of analysis of the Polish media discourse concerning of the topic of the right by parents to decide about issues relating to their children. In particular the analysis applies to the topic, which dominated the debate during the period of research – the safety and welfare of children against the law lowering the age of mandatory school education. This subject appeared in public discourse at the turn of 2008 and 2009, returning periodically with the subsequent media reports and activities of stakeholders. The study used two concepts. The classic model of moral panic by Stanley Cohen, along with polemics, was supplemented by the concept of communication in the public sphere and building a collective identity in the conditions of a bitter dispute. This allowed for better insight into the public sphere, especially in the analyzed subject, dominated by the emotional message. The analysis of discourse created in this debate suggests that the attention of the media and society inadequate to the scale of the problem leads to the implementation of the various interests of the groups involved in panic triggering. Social issues and social initiatives growing next to them have become also a field of realization of the political interests.

The article attempts to answer the question about the scope of post-truth phenomenon in the process of creating an atmosphere of moral panic – increased social unrest and the accompanying inadequate response of the media. The critical analysis of the media discourse on the analyses social issues allows to state that with the expansion of new technologies and the way of communicating, the frequency of creating false information increases, the specificity of the phenomenon of raising social anxiety and the creation of non-matching visions of reality is changing.

W artykule została podjęta próba odpowiedzi na pytanie o zakres udziału zjawiska post-prawdy w procesie kreowania atmosfery paniki moralnej, czyli podwyższonego niepokoju społecznego i towarzyszącej mu nieadekwatnej reakcji mediów. Krytyczna analiza dyskursu medialnego dotyczącego analizowanych problemów społecznych pozwala stwierdzić, że wraz z rozwojem nowych technologii i sposobów komunikowania, zmienia się specyfika zjawiska wzbudzania społecznego niepokoju oraz tworzenia nieprzystających do siebie wizji rzeczywistości.
