The article presents a range of duties and activities of the methodical departments in Ukrainian libraries. The author describes particular tasks, directions and guidelines for the future of the methodical departments. The theoretical part is augmented by statistical data concerning libraries in the Ukraine.

W artykule przedstawiono zakres obowiązków i działań oddziałów metodycznych w bibliotekach ukraińskich. Opisane zostały poszczególne kierunki zadań, wskazówki oraz wytyczne, dotyczące przyszłości oddziałów metodycznych. Część teoretyczna uzupełniona została danymi statystycznymi dotyczącymi bibliotek na Ukrainie.
