The article presents the history of the tradition and the editing of the prologue of the Gospel of St. Mark. It is divided into three main parts: the first concerns the definition of the function of the introduction and its meaning in the entire oldest gospel based on the analysis of the structure. The second one takes up the problem of marking out the prologue through literary research. The last one is appropriate conclusions. Both issues have in common the multitude of solutions that have recently appeared in the area of biblical teachings. An examination of the most important studies based on various methods: historical – critical and synchronic, allows to expose a new, coherent theological perspective, conducive to defining the framework of prologue, his internal nature and external influence on the other parts of the narrative. It is also a toll helpful in correctly interpreting the intentions of the evangelist Mark, as well as determining the role of the recipient of his work. This theological pluralism, despite differences in approach, comes down to showing the kerygmatic aspect of the prologue, which at the same time answers the question: who is Jesus?

Artykuł przybliża historię tradycji i redakcji prologu Ewangelii św. Marka. Dzieli się na trzy zasadnicze części: pierwsza dotyczy określenia funkcji wstępu i jego znaczenia w całości najstarszej Ewangelii, opierając się na analizie struktury. Druga część podejmuje problem delimitacji prologu. W ostatniej części zawarte są wnioski. Obydwie kwestie łączy wielość rozwiązań, jakie w ostatnim czasie pojawiły się na gruncie nauk biblijnych. Prześledzenie najważniejszych opracowań opartych na różnych metodach, takich jak podejście historyczno-krytyczne i synchroniczne, pozwala na wypracowanie nowej, spójnej perspektywy teologicznej. Perspektywa ta sprzyja określeniu ram prologu, jego wewnętrznej natury oraz zewnętrznego wpływu na pozostałe partie narracji. Stanowi ona również narzędzie pomocne we właściwym odczytaniu intencji Ewangelisty Marka, a także ustaleniu roli odbiorcy jego dzieła. Wielość rozwiązań, mimo różnic w podejściu, sprowadza się do ukazania kerygmatycznego aspektu prologu, który jednocześnie daje odpowiedź na pytanie: kim jest Jezus?.
