The starting point of this paper is the assumption that reading is a communication act taking place firstly between the writer and the readers of his books and secondly, after translation, between the writer and the readers of the target text. An exceptional example for this kind of communication constitutes the literature for children. A translatological analysis based on a Polish novel by Janusz Korczak and its two German translations by Monika Heinker and Katja Weintraub is focused on aspects of communication between the writer and a child as a text receiver.

Poniższe rozważania oparte są na przekonaniu, że czytanie stanowi akt komunikacji, który ma miejsce po pierwsze między pisarzem a czytelnikami jego książek, a następnie, po dokonaniu przekładu tekstu, między pisarzem a czytelnikami tekstu docelowego. Wyjątkowy przykład tego rodzaju komunikacji stanowi literatura dla dzieci. Przeprowadzona analiza translatologiczna, bazująca na polskiej powieści Janusza Korczaka i jej dwóch niemieckich tłumaczeniach dokonanych przez Monikę Heinker i Katję Weintraub, koncentruje się na aspekcie komunikacji między pisarzem a dzieckiem jako odbiorcą tekstu.
