The article presents the use of the press in E/LE classes as necessary way to obtain a better level of cultural and communicative competence in a not native context. On the other hand, the analysis of the press influences the development of the students critic thinking. This way it justifies the incorporation in the subject of Spanish as a foreign language on Hispanic Philology Studies on the Adam Mickiewicz University at Poznań.
