The article deals with Germanisms in the contemporary urban dialect of Poznan. The aim of the article is to indicate the influence of German language structures on the lexicon, syntax and phraseology of the Poznań dialect. Germanisms occurring in the lexicon were considered in the context of the formation of Poznań Polish (dialectisms, archaisms, regionalisms) and in chronological terms, based on Bogdan Walczak’s studies (three chronological layers of Germanisms). In terms of syntax, reference was made to German grammatical constructions, which were transferred to the Poznań dialect. The division of borrowings in the area of Poznań phraseological units is based on the scheme adopted by the researchers, distinguishing German phraseological units (expressions and phrases) and German idiom units. The collected materials showed a great influence of the German language on the presented levels of the organization of the Poznań dialect and a strong rooting of the studied structures in the Polish of the Poznań people.

Artykuł dotyczy germanizmów we współczesnej gwarze miejskiej Poznania. Celem opracowania jest wskazanie wpływu struktur języka niemieckiego na leksykę, składnię i frazeologię gwary poznańskiej. Germanizmy występujące w leksyce rozpatrzono w kontekście kształtowania się polszczyzny poznańskiej (dialektyzmy, archaizmy, regionalizmy) oraz w ujęciu chronologicznym, opierając się na badaniach Bogdana Walczaka (1992; 2016) (trzy warstwy chronologiczne germanizmów). W zakresie składni odniesiono się do niemieckich konstrukcji gramatycznych, które przeniesione zostały do gwary poznańskiej. Podział zapożyczeń w obszarze frazeologizmów poznańskich oparto na schemacie przyjętym przez badaczy, wyróżniając niemieckie kalki frazeologiczne (wyrażenia i zwroty) oraz kalki niemieckich idiomów. Zebrane materiały wykazały duży wpływ języka niemieckiego na przedstawione płaszczyzny organizacji języka gwary poznańskiej oraz silne zakorzenienie badanych struktur w polszczyźnie poznaniaków.

This paper presents urban dialect as a determining factor of local identity. The author analyses the definitions of dialect and shows the changing perception of this concept, as well as its nature and the current role. Regional identity and its correlation with the dialect is also addressed. The present considerations are explored through the example of the present-day urban dialect of the city of Poznań, which, despite of decreasing number of active users, shows an increase in popularity and willingness to cultivate it in forms that allow the language to be perceived in terms of regional identity. Local dialect of the city of Poznań is analysed in a historical context, showing the significant influence of the German language and the economic and social changes of the city on the language formation. The paper also investigates urban dialect from a modern perspective, discussing its appearance in radio, texts and books.

Artykuł przedstawia gwarę miejską w kontekście determinanta tożsamości regionalnej. Autorka analizuje definicje gwary i wskazuje na zmieniający się odbiór tego pojęcia, jak i jego charakter i obecną rolę. Omówiona jest także tożsamość regionalna i jej korelacja z gwarą. Niniejsze rozważania eksplikowane są na przykładzie współczesnej gwary miejskiej Poznania, która mimo coraz mniejszej liczby czynnych użytkowników wykazuje wzrost popularności i chęć kultywowania w formach pozwalających postrzegać ten język w aspektach tożsamości regionalnej. Gwara poznańska analizowana jest w kontekście historycznym, gdzie wskazano na istotny wpływ języka niemieckiego oraz przemian gospodarczo-społecznych miasta na kształtowanie się języka mieszkańców Poznania. Artykuł rozpatruje gwarę miejską także we współczesnym ujęciu, omawiając jej występowanie w radiu, tekstach i książkach.

The aim of this article is to provide a definitional characterization of linguistic awareness and to define its role in the context of dialect. The concept of linguistic awareness was analysed – both in dictionary terms and in linguistic works appearing on this subject. An attempt was made to construct a coherent definition of the discussed term and the sociological foundations of the issue were presented, finding a direct reference to contemporary communication behaviour and dialect issues.

Celem artykułu jest definicyjne scharakteryzowanie świadomości językowej oraz określenie jej roli w kontekście gwary. Analizie poddano pojęcie świadomości językowej – zarówno w ujęciach słownikowych, jak i w pojawiających się na ten temat pracach językoznawczych. Podjęto próbę skonstruowania spójnej definicji omawianego terminu oraz przedstawiono socjologiczne podstawy zagadnienia, znajdując bezpośrednie odniesienie do współczesnych zachowań komunikacyjnych i problematyki gwary.

The aim of this article is to examine the linguistic awareness of the inhabitants of Poznań in relation to Germanisms found in the contemporary Poznań dialect. The study is based on an anonymous questionnaire survey, answered by 104 people in three age groups. The analysis verifies active and passive knowledge of German loanwords among the respondents and their knowledge of the etymology and occurrence of the studied units in quantitative terms. The attitude to Germanisms and their vitality is examined, with an indication of age groups, social strata and situations in which they are most often used. The study is compared with the results of the analysis carried out in 2015 by Anna Piotrowicz and Małgorzata Witaszek-Samborska.

Celem artykułu było zbadanie świadomości językowej mieszkańców Poznania w odniesieniu do germanizmów występujących we współczesnej gwarze poznańskiej. Badanie oparto na anonimowym kwestionariuszu ankiety, w którym udział wzięło 104 respondentów, w trzech grupach wiekowych. Analiza zweryfikowała czynną i bierną znajomość zapożyczeń niemieckich wśród ankietowanych oraz ich wiedzę na temat etymologii i występowania badanych jednostek pod względem ilościowym. Zbadano stosunek do germanizmów i ich żywotność ze wskazaniem grup wiekowych, warstw społecznych i sytuacji, w których używane są najczęściej. Przeprowadzone badanie zestawione zostało z wynikami analizy przeprowadzonej w 2015 roku przez Annę Piotrowicz i Małgorzatę Witaszek-Samborską, która była przedmiotem publikacji O żywotności zapożyczeń niemieckich w gwarze miejskiej Poznania.

The aim of the article is to define the forms of communication of the contemporary Poznań dialect among young people from Poznań and its vicinity. The research part was preceded by a theoretical introduction describing the current state of research on the Poznań dialect, its expansiveness in the public space of the city and its culture-forming and identity character. With regard to the current status of the Poznań Polish language, and above all the forms of its cultivation, the question was asked how interesting they are for the young generation of Poznań residents, on whom the future of this language variety depends. For this purpose, an anonymous survey was conducted with 202 students in three age groups. The analysis verified the active and passive knowledge of the most popular words from the Poznań dialect, the attitude of young people to this language, as well as all current and future forms of its promotion.

The article examines the degree of linguistic influence of the Poznań Bambers on the formation of the contemporary Poznań dialect. The origin and language of the emigrating settlers were analyzed, taking into account the then territorial and communication divisions. The factors influencing the extremely rapid polonization of Bambry were also presented, from religious reasons through education to the intensification of relations with the Polish population. The article deals with the issue of attempts at germanization of the Bamberians – in particular during the Prussian partition in Wielkopolska – in the context of the final crystallization of the national and regional identity of this ethnocultural group. The analysis closes with the current participation and contribution of the Bambers to the culture and linguistic heritage of Poznań.

Artykuł bada stopień językowego wpływu Bambrów poznańskich na ukształtowanie się współczesnej gwary miejskiej Poznania. Analizie poddano pochodzenie i język emigrujących osadników, uwzględniając ówczesne podziały terytorialne i komunikacyjne. Przedstawiono także czynniki wpływające na niezwykle szybką polonizację Bambrów, od względów religijnych, przez edukację, po intensyfikację relacji z ludnością polską. Artykuł porusza kwestię prób germanizacji Bamberczyków – w szczególności podczas zaboru pruskiego na terenach Wielkopolski – w kontekście ostatecznego wykrystalizowania się tożsamości narodowej i regionalnej tej grupy etnokulturowej. Analizę zamyka bieżący udział i wkład Bambrów w kulturę oraz językowe dziedzictwo Poznania.
