The article attempts to survey the years 1909–1928, which Józef Grycz spent in Cracow. His Cracovian days began with studies at the Jagiellonian University, and continued later on with work at the Jagiellonian Library. During those years he actively gathered professional experience as a librarian and distinguished himself in various activities within the librarian and bibliophile milieu. The authors bring forth unpublished manuscript archival materials from the collections of the National Library in Warsaw, the Jagiellonian Library and in the Archive of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.
