Artykuł jest próbą spojrzenia na znaczenie terminu „preromantyzm” przez pryzmat funkcjonowania tego pojęcia w tekstach literaturoznawczych. Przedmiotem analizy są rozprawy zamieszczone w przygotowanych przez Alinę Aleksandrowicz i Ewę Grzędę dwóch książkach naukowych, które dzieli data wydania (1991 i 2007), charakter publikacji (tom zbiorowy i autorska antologia utworów literackich), łączy natomiast użycie w formule tytułowej terminu „preromantyzm”. Rekonstruowane w toku rozważań sensy terminu „preromantyzm” odsyłają do zjawisk estetyczno-literackich, które mają w nauce o literaturze swoje nazwy: „sentymentalizm”, „gotycyzm”, „osjanizm” czy „rokoko”. Materiałem uzupełniającym bądź porównawczym dla formułowanych wniosków są spostrzeżenia innych badaczy literatury (T. Kostkiewiczowa, A. Kowalczykowa, J. Krzyżanowski, Z. Libera, J. Lyszczyna, J. Maciejewski), którzy problem preromantyzmu rozpatrywali wcześniej.

The article is an attempt to look at the meaning of the term “pre-Romanticism” through the prism of its functioning in literary texts. The subject of analysis are texts published in two book by Alina Aleksandrowicz and Ewa Grzęda. The two books are different in terms of the date (1991 and 2007) and the nature of the publication (collective volume and author’s anthology of literary works), but also linked to each other through the use of the term pre-Romanticism in their titles. The reconstructed senses of the term pre-Romanticism refer to aesthetic and literary phenomena which have their specific names in literary studies: Sentimentalism, Gothicism, Ossianism or Rococo. The observations of other literary researchers (T. Kostkiewiczowa, A. Kowalczykowa, J. Krzyżanowski, Z. Libera, J. Lyszczyna, J. Maciejewski), who previously considered the problem of pre-Romanticism, constitute a complementary or comparative material for the formulated conclusions.

The purpose of this paper is an attempt to determine the authorship of a poem entitled “A Plea to Guardian Angels to save us from gothicism” published in 1822 under the pseudonym of Bonawentura Pleciuch. In my analysis I propose a hypothesis that the poem’s satirical tone and the place of its publication, local periodical Krakus, allow us to link it with the name of Konstanty Majeranowski. I discuss Majeranowski’s literary activity, paying special attention to his feature columns entitled A Philospohical Scrap, all of which in high probability suggests his authorship of “A Plea to Guardian Angels…”.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest próba ustalenia autorstwa opublikowanego w 1822 roku pod pseudonimem Bonawentura Pleciuch wiersza Prośba do Aniołów Stróżów, aby nas zachowali od gotycyzmu. Przeprowadzona w rozprawie interpretacja utworu zwraca uwagę na jego satyryczny charakter, natomiast miejsce publikacji wiersza – czasopismo „Krakus” – pozwala łączyć utwór z Konstantym Majeranowskim. Omówienie działalności pisarskiej Majeranowskiego, a zwłaszcza jego felietonów ukazujących się pod tytułem Świstek Filozoficzny pozwala z dużym prawdopodobieństwem stwierdzić, że autorem Prośby do Aniołów Stróżów… był właśnie Konstanty Majeranowski.

Bibliomania Stanisława Przyłęckiego (1805–1866)

The aim of the article is to present not so much the figure and scholarly activities of Stanisław Przyłęcki (1805–1866), but his interest in broadly defined book questions and ways of collecting books. Analysing the contents of two manuscripts by Przyłęcki, currently kept in the Ossoliński National Institute (no. 1838, 1861), the author focuses on his study entitled Bibliomania. The analysis makes it possible to conclude that it is not, in fact, an original work by Przyłęcki but a free translation of a fragment of Léopold-Auguste Constantin’s book Bibliothéconomie. Instructions sur l’arrangement, la conservation et l’administration des bibliothèques, published in Paris in 1839. The article also contains an edition of the translation with a commentary.

The analysis’s exemplificative material comprises 'Kościoły śmierci' by M. Czarnek and A. Naruszewicz, 'Kościół Temidy' by F.D. Kniaźnin, 'Żona modna' by I. Krasicki and translatory works by J. Koblański.
