Empatia i wypalenie zawodowe u pracowników Służby Więziennej

narażona jest na szybkie wypalenie zawodowe. Kilka godzin dziennie przebywają w ograniczonej przestrzeni, z tymi samymi osobami – współpracownikami i osobami osadzonymi. Udzielając wsparcia tym ostatnim, często jednak nie widzą efektów swojej pracy. Poza tym pozostawanie w bliskim kontakcie, szczególnie w tym bezpośrednim, z osobami nieprzystosowanymi społecznie – z tzw. trudnymi klientami – sprzyja procesowi desensytyzacji. Dlatego celem badania własnego było ustalenie poziomu empatii emocjonalno-poznawczej i nasilenia wypalenia zawodowego u wychowawców penitencjarnych i funkcjonariuszy ochrony w zakładach karnych. W związku z tym przeprowadzono badanie własne metodą sondażu diagnostycznego, wykorzystując Kwestionariusz Wypalenia Zawodowego OLBI w celu ustalenia, w jakim stopniu badane osoby są wypalone zawodowo, oraz Indeks Reaktywności Interpersonalnej (IRI) w adaptacji polskiej w celu udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie o to, w jakim stopniu uczestnicy badania są empatyczni. W badaniu uczestniczyło 70 pracowników służby więziennej z czterech jednostek penitencjarnych z Okręgowego Inspektoratu Służby Więziennej w Białymstoku i Lublinie, z czego połowę stanowili wychowawcy penitencjarni.

Functioning in a family of minors from probation centers

The family home should be the place where children and youth want to return, and parents should be people to whom they can always turn to for help. Lack of proper relationships with parents in particular adversely affects youth. Therefore, the aim of the research was to determine how minors from probation centers function in a family environment. The study was conducted among minors from probation centers operating at the District Court in Lublin. The results obtained show that the examined minors do not have appropriate relationships with parents and it is necessary in their case to carry out preventive and educational activities both for them and their parents.

Prison service employee’s empathy and professional burnout

Prison service employees belong to a professional group that is susceptible to a quick professional burnout. They spend a few hours per day in a limited space with the same individuals – the co-workers and the prisoners. While providing support to the latter ones, they frequently do not see the results of their own work. Moreover, when staying in a close contact, especially the direct one, with the socially maladjusted persons – the so-called challenging client, the process of their desensitization is triggered. Thus, the aim of the author’s own research was to define the level of emotional and cognitive empathy as well as the severity of the occupational burnout of penitentiary educators and security officers in penal institutions. Therefore the author’s own research was conducted by applying a diagnostic survey method using the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI) in order to determine the extent to which the surveyed individuals are professionally burned out.. Moreover, the Polish version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index was used to provide the answer to the question regarding the level of empathy of the respondents. The study involved seventy (70) officers of the Prison Service from four penitentiary units of the District Inspectorate of Prison Service in Bialystok and Lublin, half of whom were penitentiary educators.

Funkcjonowanie w rodzinie nieletnich z ośrodków kuratorskich

Dom rodzinny powinien być miejscem, do którego dzieci i młodzież chce wracać, a rodzice powinni być osobami, do których zawsze mogą zwrócić się o pomoc. Brak właściwych relacji z rodzicami niekorzystnie wpływa szczególnie na młodzież. Dlatego celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie, jak nieletni z ośrodków kuratorskich funkcjonują w środowisku rodzinnym. Badania zostały przeprowadzone wśród nieletnich z ośrodków kuratorskich funkcjonujących przy Sądzie Okręgowym w Lublinie. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że badani nieletni nie mają poprawnych relacji z rodzicami i konieczne jest w ich przypadku prowadzenie działań profilaktyczno-wychowawczych, zarówno dla nich jak i ich rodziców.
